Types:

Ex: carbohydrates, fiber, fats,

Signs and symptoms:

 Cannaibilism
 Ruffled feathers
 Perosis or slipping of gastrocnemius tendon
 Retardation of growth and egg production

 Crude protein for layer chicks 21% and broilers 22.5%

6. Fatty Liver Syndrome
Causes:
 high fat deposition in liver
 Toxins
 nutritional imbalances
 excessive consumption of high energy diets
 endocrine imbalances and genetic components
Signs and symptoms:
 enlarged and pale livers
 pale combs
 rupture of the liver

7. Treatment
– Dietary modification
– Fish meal and alfalfa meal
– Choline chloride to feed as a treatment

8. Vitamins Deficiency
Vitamins A deficiency:
Signs and symptoms:
 Weakness, imbalance
 Retardation of body growth
 Ruffled feather
 Loss of yellow color of the shanks
 Abnormally large combs and testes
 Ataxia
 Watery discharge from nostrils and eyes
 Penguin like squat

9. Diagnosis:
 Tissue alteration in in the esophagus and respiratory tract
 Twisting of head
 Improper development of main blood vessels
Treatment
 12500 IU of vitamins A and 1/5 th of vit D should be mixed with every kg of feed

10. Vitamin B Deficiency
Signs and symptoms:
– Perosis
– Paralysis
– Dermatitis/Scaly Skin
– Mouth Lesions
– Conjunctivitis
– Anemia
– Loose feathers
– Hatchability problems
– Embryo with clubbed down

11. Treatment
 Vitamin B supplement

- Plexa BC
- Bovital
 Riboflavin 2 gm./ton of feed
 Wheat bran, yeast, rice polish, fish meat, green vegetables
 Folic acid 0.75 to 1.0 mg/kg
 Vitamin B12 4mg/ton

12. Crazy Chick Diseases
Causes: deficiency of vitamin E
Signs and symptoms:
 Push head beneath the breast
 Paralysis
 Imbalance
 Staggering
 Uncontrolled movements
 Green wings.

13. Treatment
 300 IU of vitamin E/kg
 Cotton seed cake
 Soybean oil

14. Mineral Deficiency
Rickets:
Associated with deficiency of Ca and P
Signs and symptoms:
 A gap is formed between the upper and lower beaks
 Incoordination movement
 Nodular swellings
 Bending's of leg
 Thinnig of egg shell

15. Treatment
 Vitamin D supplement and calcium should be given as feed
 Balanced diet
