The job profile includes design of LED Drives.
Designed from 50W to 135W Dimmable & Non-Dimmable Two Stage (PFC+Flyback) switching-
mode converter power supply for the LED Driver with a Constant Output Current targeting lower THD
& High Power Factor. Meeting all design specifications including severe EMI, Surge, efficiency (90%
efficient), and reliability.
Lead the team for Designed from 10W to 50W Dimmable & Non-Dimmable at 65 kHz Single Stage
(Flyback) switch-mode converter power supply for the LED Driver with a Constant Output Current
targeting lower THD & High Power Factor. Meeting all design specifications including severe EMI,
Surge, efficiency (90% efficient), and reliability.
Design from concepts to production in a short span of time within the given cost targets
Design and lead various qualification testing for the product range from prototype stage to design
confirmation stage
Selection of power electronic devices like MOSFETs, BJTs, Power Diodes and their application
Experience in Component Selection for EMC/EMI Filters, Surge Protection etc. for FCC IEC certifications
Knowledge of Electronics Reliability
Achievements:
Designed High Power (100-135Watt) LED Driver by reduction in 20% height from existing for
Mechanical feasibility.
Designed & Launched 24W/30W/36W & 43Watts LED Drivers. 36W platform has <5% THD, which is a first
in India and helps differentiate GE fixtures from competition.
Designed & Launched 100-135Watts LED Drivers which are ~30% cheaper than imported drivers.
This provides flexibility in design and cost competence of high wattage products
Quick solution given in the form of CMSPD to improve the reliability of the outdoor products along with Driver.
Supported and Guided the Program team with Technical data/documents for Enabling Production.
We won Good Market Share because of Overall cost reduction of the Product with Improved efficacy of the system.
Designed a super Value surge protection device which is 25% cost against Market Value.
With a super Value surge protection device, we participated in EESL Road – way lighting tenders
with 10KV Surge Protection requirement.
Supported and Guided the Regulatory team during the technical qualification of BIS Certification approval
process for LED Drivers – All ICFC driver platforms met the DeitY regulatory requirements
without any change in the design.
Selected right EMI components & Surge arrestor parts to Clear and get certification from NABL accreted LAB.
Supported and Guided the team technically on Mandatory Safety tests like HV and IR for LED Drivers
Reacted quickly to understand the root cause for LED PCB failures and provide corrective action immediately.
Provided extended support in the installation & commissioning of the Intelligent Lighting platforms and Guided
on programming the intelligence lighting based on the requirement

The job profile includes design of Active Harmonic Filter Based on IGBT Drive.
Design and analysis of instantaneous power theory with proportional integral (PI) based
Shunt Active Harmonic filter. This AHF compensates the reactive and harmonic currents drawn by
the non-linear load besides power factor correction. The compensation process is based on the
calculation of real power losses using p-q theory and the PI controller reduces the ripple voltage of
the dc capacitor of the IGBT Based PWM-VSI. The switching is done according to gating signals
obtained from hysteresis band current controller.
