Folie a Deux RRL Generation One
1. Hello, and welcome to the project that will drive me and Jess crazy over the next few months! This is more an introduction to generation two than a story of generation one. Hope you enjoy!! Round Robin Legacy! Generation 1 Lauren’s Turn
2. Our legacy begins with a simple girl – elven ears but a human heart. Capable of fault and indecisiveness; with some wicked-awesome freckles to match! Her name was Phoenix Folie á Deux and she was family-minded, a Pisces with a thing for any man who could provide her with babies.
3. As it happens, that man was Timothy Riley. The two met at the park and fell madly in love soon afterwards. He and his daughter from his late wife Sally moved in with Phoenix and together they had four beautiful children; Alicia, Sydney, Kaidan and India. They lived prosperous, loving and all-too-short lives.
4. This is the house that love built. With Timothy’s funds from the selling of his apartment and furniture, a one-story five bedroom house for their soon to be large family was built. The house stood strong for eighteen joyous years.
5. One night when the children were young, Timothy was bitten by a stray dog with glowing eyes. He had no idea then what that implicated, but soon after he realised he had become a werewolf! Being of the knowledge persuasion, he relished in this fact and stayed like this, although as the years went by he found his bloodthirsty urges got stronger.
6. So one night, under the cover of darkness, he acquired several bottles of poison from a gypsy. Too selfish to change back into a fully-fledged human but too selfless to live with himself if he should tear apart his family, he buried them in the far corner of the garden should the worst come to the worst.
7. Despite Timothy’s… unusual lifestyle, the lives of the Folie á Deux family continued as normal. Phoenix here is playing with one of her daughters, Sydney.
8. Sally grew up into a gorgeous teenager and discovered that she liked girls more than boys. Bisexual Ginger Newson also decided that Sally was pretty cute too! Sally fell in love, but they didn’t last when Sally went to college at Sim State University.
9. These are Phoenix’s last two, twins Kaidan and India. Kaidan was always a quiet but happy boy, looking out for his family and was fiercely protective of his three sisters. India was more careless and possessed a daredevil streak that could not quite be fulfilled in a place as quiet as Belladonna Cove.
10. Or could it? For one night when Alicia was seventeen, Sydney was fifteen and the twins were eight, Timothy sat on the ground in the orchard beside their house. Phoenix lead a busy life as Captain Hero of Belladonna Cove and to unwind, she had planted several fruit trees. It was a peaceful place to reflect and Timothy usually transformed here, to not disturb his family.
11. Or was it? Tonight was different. Normally transformations involved a little discomfort, but tonight there was pain. Agony. Rage. So much… anger. It boiled up inside him and took a hold of his very core. What was this? What was destroying him so viciously from the inside out?
12. He leapt up as a fantastic green light exploded from his centre. He screamed, but the scream dissolved into a deep howl, and his last human thoughts before the transformation were of Phoenix and his family.
13. Timothy, or what was possessing Timothy’s body, stumbled into the house and saw his wife scrubbing the cooker. He bolted towards her, so strong was the urge to tear her limb from limb.
14. As he crossed to her, their children’s play castle was in the way. He lashed out and kicked it to the ground, his wolfish strength aiding him. “Tim!” Phoenix growled, “the kids are asleep! What the hell-” And then he lunged at her.
15. What chance did she, as a sweet but elderly woman, have against a fully enraged werewolf? Phoenix didn’t understand what was going on and succumbed to his blows; halfway through the brawl she herself became a werewolf. But that wasn’t enough for Timothy.
16. The sound of the battle woke Sydney. Her eyes flickered open but she dare not leave the safety of her room. It sounded like her father’s wolf form but… different. Of course Sydney wanted to act and if there could be any resolve to what ungodly conflict was happening not too far away, but she was always practical. Never one to bite off more than she can chew.So instead, she slowly and silently got out of bed and dressed.
17. The beast within Timothy beat Phoenix until she lay still on the ground, no longer breathing. Her soul was in a better place, but the beast wasn’t finished yet. Now he had to get rid of the younglings.
18. He dragged out some firewood from their storage and laid it around the smashed wooden castle.“I always hated that toy!” the werewolf laughed, striking matches and throwing them onto the castle. It caught alight quickly, and he ran out of the building and drove away.
19. Sydney waited until she was sure the car was gone then went outside her bedroom. Flames licked the ceiling and she screamed. Her siblings! They must have slept through the fight and they needed help!
20. Sydney ducked into Kaidan’s bedroom, the closest to the fire. “Kaidan!” she shouted over the roar of the quite-big-and-getting-bigger fire. “Kaidan, wake up!”
21. Kaidan and India sat across the street as Sydney had instructed them to whilst she got Alicia. She saw the wolfish curled-up form of her mother and felt sick – she daren’t look twice. The car was gone, which meant their father had escaped. Kaidan had grabbed a toy on his way out of the house, which he held onto strongly now. India preferred to watch the house burn.
22. Alicia and Sydney made it out of the house okay and joined their siblings to watch the house burn. “All my stuff is in there…” Sydney sighed. “Guys… Dad did this.” No-one believed her at first. But once Sydney pointed out the evidence, the crying and the wailing began. But Sydney was having none of it.
23. They walked down the street, half of them in their pyjamas, looking for something to help them. “Alicia, you’re smart right?” Sydney mused. “I like to think so.” Alicia shrugged. “Read anything about hot-wiring?” “Hot-wiring? Isn’t that a little inappropriate considering…”
24. Sydney whirled around, “Considering what? Our home’s been burnt to the ground? I’ve got a hundred bucks in my purse, what about the rest of you? We need to get out of here, fast. We don’t know where Dad went but I know he will come back to this place – normal or not. Now we can either sit and mope about our house and Mum, or we can get the hell out of here and mourn when our own lives aren’t on the line! Now Alicia, hotwire the damn car next to me and let’s blow this town!”
25. And they did. An hour later, Timothy recovered his consciousness whilst driving and suddenly realised that he was miles from home. He turned the car around and drove back, wishing he hadn’t. The silent, crackling flames told him anyone who was in there, was not alive.
26. He knew what to do. Without uttering a word of shedding a tear, he went to the far corner of the garden and used his clawed hands to dig up the earth. He uncovered five bottles of the poison he had bought two years ago. Maybe it weakened with age – maybe it strengthened. Surely all five would kill him.
27. He knelt down and picked up the first bottle. Taking a deep breath, he popped the top off and took a deep swig, finishing it in one go. Then, quickly, he took the next and the next and the next.
31. “I die.” He fell to the ground in seconds. He died moments later, and his body was consumed by the laps of the fire.
32. That’s it for me! I know it’s short but I didn’t feel like writing a complex story – I’ll do better with Generation 3. It’s up to Jess now to play Sydney – her chosen heir – and continue the Folie á Deux legacy!
