Use Fewer Social Sites
Concentrating your marketing efforts to a few of
the better producing sites is more effective than
spreading yourself too thin over many of the social
sites. The time it takes to successfully participate in
social media is substantial so you need to build a
strong presence on the sites that deliver rather than
trying to dominate them all.
Get customers to your Social Media pages
Your first challenge is to get your customer to
notice you. Start by inserting Facebook and Twitter
links on your blog or website.
Also include links on all marketing materials you
send out, from business cards to flyers to email
blasts and spend some time seeking out second- and
third-degree friends and suggesting that they "like"
or "follow" you.
Avoid automation.
Automating your social media efforts can save you a
ton of time, but it presents far too many risks to
make it a viable option for your small business.
Respond to everything.
Respond to every comment whether they're positive
or negative - be sure to respond. Remember,
potential customers are going to be viewing your
pages and deciding whether or not they want to be
associated with you.
Make your posts more relevant
When people first started using the social sites they
were posting things like "Going for event today
with friends. Wish me luck!" The social sites have
grown and changed. You need to start posting more
relevant information. Make it about your readers
and followers, not about you. Post solutions,
inspiration, and interesting facts that can be useful
and helpful.

and unequaled heights in 2014. Don't let your
business be left behind. Become active with social
media. Really get involved. Make new connections
and post relevant visual items. Make it about your
followers and clients.

Google+ will be more important to your business.
By being on Google+, you will be able to take full
advantage of Google Authorship.
Google Authorship is a way to link content you
create with a Google+ profile, which provides
benefits such as your headshot image appearing
next to your content in Google’s search results.

Pages are for businesses, organizations and brands
to share their stories and connect with people. Like
timelines, even you can customize Pages by adding
apps, posting stories, hosting events and more.
Engage and grow your audience by posting
regularly. People who like your Page and their
friends can get updates in News Feed.

The social sites have grown and changed. You need to start posting more relevant information. Make it about your readers and followers, not about you. Post solutions, inspiration, and interesting facts that can be useful and helpful.
