Over 20 years procurement experience within the automotive industry but increasingly becoming
involved with other divisions of non-automotive sectors in the Arlington Automotive structure.
Previous background at Remploy Ltd (name of Company before transfer of ownership to
Arlington Automotive) was as commercial and customer account controller.
I am viewed by my colleagues as professional, team player with real passion and enthusiasm for
achieving positive results. I am very self motivated individual who is able to prioritise workload
in line with departmental objectives and deadlines. I have real passion for working with people
and building relationships with internal & external personal.

Current Position (from Jan 1990 - ) – Buyer for Arlington Automotive (Previously known as
Remploy Automotive) - Coventry
Key achievements:
• Purchasing Strategy - Implement strategic purchasing capability into an organisation
that previously had no purchasing resource, a firm which relied heavily on our end
customer purchasing resource.
• Purchasing Practise - Introduction of best purchasing practise ie RFQ, E-auction,
confidentially agreements, service level agreements and negotiation plans.
• Purchasing Data - Extracted data on Arlington Automotive spend to manipulate
purchasing spend to assess supplier rationalisation.
• Supplier Development - Control and conduct supplier development to ensure Arlington
Automotive aspirations in cost and supply are met.
• Direct Savings – Delivered savings on direct material which are retained savings to
Arlington Automotive business. Various savings options on customer nominated
suppliers not realised by customer.
• Indirect Savings – Input to supply chain and production department to ensure material
from supply base to achieve optimum low cost without damage to customer demands.
• Sourcing - Led global sourcing team to emerging country (India) and European (Spain
& Germany) markets with achievable and positive results.
• Audit - Working with Remploy automotive business team in implementation of quality
accreditation ie TS 16949 & ISO 9000.
• Spend - Led discussions and negotiations with suppliers to minimise financial impact to
Arlington Automotive near our year end and at “credit crunch” period.
