2. What is code week?
2013: A grass-root initiative run by volunteers,
aimed to:
promoting computational thinking, coding and tech
related activities;
bringing ideas to life with code, making
programming more visible
bringing people together to explore and learn about
our digital world.
2018: Strategy for a Digital Single Market
Digital Education Action Plan:
The Commission encourages schools to join the
initiative: 50% of schools in Europe by 2020.
3. Why @ school?
Basic literacy in a digital age: understanding of
coding & competences related to computational
thinking, such as problem solving, collaboration
and analytical skills.
Coding can empower students to be at the
forefront of a digitally competent society
Offers all students the possibility to make their
first steps as digital creators;

Excellence:
