ANIMALS NEAR YOU?
What are stray animals?
 Animals which can be domesticated.
 Such domestic animals who are wandering
around you.
 Those animals who are in search of shelter,
food, love & affection, medical attention, care
etc.
Kinds of stray you can help.
 Dogs
 Cats
 Cows, buffalos and
bulls
 All types of birds
 Offspring's
 Donkey
 Sheep
 Goat
 Chicken
 Pig
 Monkey
 Rabbit
Dogs
 They are easily found in your surroundings
area.
 Usually have calm behaviour
 Wander around in search of food, shelter, care,
etc.
 Their offspring's are called puppy.

be seen more often.

care.
 Their offspring's are called kitten
 Cats are usually of shy behaviour.
Cows, buffalo and bulls
 They are of calm behaviour and are usually
shy
 They are big in size and generally wander in
your surroundings in search of food, water and
shelter.
Birds
 They are generally out of your reach but
you can find them flying in your
surroundings
 The wander in search of food water and
shelter.
 Sick birds can be handled and taken care
in local bird shelter
Monkey
 They are bit aggressive and shy in nature.
 They are usually found in your surroundings
upon trees and also in streets.
 They wander in search of food, shelter and
water.
Donkey, sheep, goat, pigs, rabbit
and hen.
 They are generally domesticated in farm
house but you can find them in your
surroundings.
 They wander in search of food shelter and
water.
 They are left alone by owner due to
medical issues or ignorance.
Why to help them?
 As these animals can not find all the resources
by themselves, they wander near by areas in
search of food, water and shelter. So, you can
help immensely by providing basic care to
them.
 They need your help in case of medical
attention, and animals who are injured or may
have faced abuse or accidents, they can be
helped through helpline numbers or through
immediate veterinarian attention.
How you can help
 By observing in your surroundings
 Be attentive
 Call helpline number
 Take the animal to the veterinarian
 Stop abuser to commit crime
 Do not support ill treatment of animals
 Provide food, water, shelter and care
 Encourage compassion for stray animals
 Know legal rights of feeders and stray animals
 Help in sterilisation of stray animals.
 Observe carefully.
 Look for injury and call

Who are animal abuser?
 People who willingly hurt animals and are
consciously beating strays because of their
frustration and anger.
 Animal abuse is considered as illegal in India.
 Commonly feeders and helpers are harassed
which is also considered as illegal.
 Youth like you can help to bring to an end to
this ill-practice.
Rights related to strays and animal
lovers.
 The Delhi High Court has stated that there are
no laws that prohibit people from feeding stray
animals.
 It is the fundamental duty of every citizen of
India to have compassion for all living creature
 Abandoning any animal for any reason can
land you in prison for up to three months.
 Stray dogs that have been operated for birth
control cannot be captured or relocated by
anybody including any authority.
 The Animal Welfare Board of India issues IDs for
people who feed stray animals.
 It is a criminal offence to feed stray animals
poisonous food.
 Punishment is a fine of at least Rs 2,000
and/or a jail term of up to five years.
 Filing an FIR against people who are cruel to
animals
