 Deliverables are outputs created from work towards a common
benefit or an improvement expected in performance.
 Performance is a result of processes where maximizing efficiency over
competitors is critical to success.
 Inputs (Raw Materials, Data, Knowledge, Expertise)-> Activities

 There are Formal and Informal Business Processes:
 Formal Processes are usually documented and have established steps
to be taken.
 Informal Processes are not usually documented or defined and are
knowledge-intensive.
 Business Process Management(BPM) is the
methods, tools, and technology that supports
and improves a businesses processes.
 Business Process Improvement is the
continuous examinations that determine if
the process is still efficient and/or necessary.
 The elimination of wasted steps is called Business
Process Reengineering.
 Databases are collections of stored data records,
generated by various entities and considered volatile,
held in some organized fashion.
 Organizations of larger sizes most likely have many
databases of different types.
 Data Warehouses are non-volatile, integrate data
from several databases, reformatted and organizes
them for complex analysis and to support decisions
made.
 Data Marts, generally used in enterprises who cannot
afford data warehouses, small-scaled data
warehouses that are used for a single function or
department.
 Privacy is the right of choice and control to self-
determine what information about you is made
accessible, to whom, when, and for what use or
purpose.
 Breach of Privacy is unauthorized disclosure of
personal information.
 Privacy Paradox is the phenomenon where social
users are concerned about privacy but their behaviors
contradict these concerns to an extreme degree.
 Social Recruitment is the use of social media to
engage, share knowledge, and recruit/hire employees.
 Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
enforces federal laws prohibiting discrimination in
employment.
 Protected Classes are characteristics identified by law
that cannot be used in the hiring process.
 Discrimination is biased treatment in recruitment,
hiring, or employment based on certain
characteristics.
 Corporate Social Media Discrimination is the use of
protected class information to weed out candidates.
 Civil Rights are protected by federal laws. (e.g/
freedom to bear arms)
 Social Networking Services are online
platforms that allow subscribers to interact
and form communities or networks based on
real-life relationships, shared interests, or
other common areas.
 The content is user-generated, a community
driven conversation, and is real people, in real
time, connecting to one another.
 Enterprise Systems are a category of cross-functional and
inter-organizational systems that support business
strategies.
 Enterprise Resource Planning

 Customer Relationship Management
 Core business processes include accounting, finance,
sales, marketing, human resources, inventory,
productions, and manufacturing.
 Customer lifetime value is a formula for estimating the
dollar value of a long-term relationship with a customer.
 Value-added reseller customizes features to a vendors
software or equipment and resells the enhanced product.
 Throughout the research I’ve done and from reading
the text, I’ve came to the conclusion that “tech jobs”
can overlap in requirements and tasks greatly.
Technology is a complex component of the business
world and is forever advancing, it is important for
business to keep up with the advances and that entails
a strong technology department. From obtaining
information on the right decision, to the coding in the
systems, to the technical support assisting users of
the system, there are a variety of jobs in every
industry involving knowledge of technologies and
each is an important as the next.

  • 17.  Throughout the research I’ve done and from reading the text, I’ve came to the conclusion that “tech jobs” can overlap in requirements and tasks greatly. Technology is a complex component of the business world and is forever advancing, it is important for business to keep up with the advances and that entails a strong technology department. From obtaining information on the right decision, to the coding in the systems, to the technical support assisting users of the system, there are a variety of jobs in every industry involving knowledge of technologies and each is an important as the next.
