Responsible for smooth conduct of pool and counting in the polling station. You should keep
in advance some ballot papers in full bundles of 100/50 Nos.(Approximately 60%of the total
nos. of voters with signed and seal.(i.e.60% of total voters is 312ballot papers if ,total voters
are 520)

Dtd.1-11-2001 at Annex-III directions ,how to handle ballot papers.
Ballot papers are water marked and of different colour-

No Ballot papers considered valid without both Sl. No. and signature of the Presiding

Attached to the pooling party shall work under him.
15. Ballot papers supplied to Presiding Officer at the rate of 110% of total voters of the
Polling station .i.e Let the total nos. of voters of Polling station “A” is 520. So,110% of
this figure will be 572. Therefore, the Presiding officer of station “A” will be supplied
with 550 ballot papers. If station “B” total voters is 760. 110% is 836 and the presiding
officer of this station will be supplied with 850 nos. of ballot papers.
3 types of ballot papers with Presiding Officer at the polling station-1.Used
ballot papers (inside the ballot box) 2.Un-used (those already signed and
numbered but, could not be used as there were no voters) and 3. Surplus
ballot papers (Unnumbered and without sign of the presiding Officer).
The used, Un-used and Surplus ballot papers for W.M., Sarpanch, P.S.
member and Z.P. member shall be put in separate covers and such covers
should be properly subscribe as used, Un-used and Surplus ballot papers
as the case may be and sealed by the Presiding Officer and handed over to
the Election officer.
