6. All organizations are ecosystems; a complex set of relationships all interacting with
each other. Internal and external factors impact the ecosystem. Organizations vary
greatly in size and the elements that make them up. Some are sustainable, some
are changing.

what will not……..just like in an organization.
Organizational culture, when sustainable, determines
what types of people, actions, decisions, systems,
and behaviors will flourish and which ones will not.
In reality, all organizations are ecosystems and anything that occurs within that ecosystem is a result of many factors. Change occurs constantly yet over time ecosystems reach a state of stability; change slows down……in an organization we’d say that the culture has set in!
Ecosystems vary greatly in size and in the elements that make them up. When an ecosystem is healthy, all parts working well together, scientists say it is sustainable.
An organization, like an ecosystem, has distinct characteristics. Leaders and managers, sometimes inadvertently, create the environment that determines what will grow and what will not.
