height of their popularity in the '90s, when millions of teens around the entire
country would flock to their televisions every week in order to learn more the
characters that they had come to love. Featuring themes that were common to all
teenagers, these sitcoms endeared themselves to the hearts of American teenagers
who found both comfort and entertainment in the shows' plots.
California Dreams
California Dreams followed the lives of several teenagers who were members of a
popular rock band. Characters such as Matt and Jenny Garrison, Tiffani Smith,
Tony Wicks, Jack Sommers, and Sam Woo dealt with both typical teenage issues
and crazy adventures that were brought on by their blossoming careers.
Hang Time
On the show Hang Time, teenage basketball players at a fictional high school in

the Deering Tornadoes, the top team in the state. Although the show was notorious

This wildly popular sitcom detailed the journeys of Cory Matthews as he learned
how to cope with the bewildering world around him. The character of Cory was in
sixth grade when the show first aired, and audiences were able to watch him
