• Individually built the crawler in python to crawl anime/comic events from websites, retrieve events using Facebook
API, developed and hosted a node.js app on AWS to import and de-dupe events into backend.
• Closely worked with engineering mentors to migrate backend database. Built a management system in node.js for
staging the backend data using Parse API. Resolved the existing timezone issues in client app and backend server.
• Closely worked with product managers to add search filters, redesign the event listing tableView on iOS mobile app.
Course Producer of CSCI570 (Analysis of Algorithm) Jan 2016 – May 2016

USC Project Individual
Stock Search (Web app/iOS mobile app) Mar – May 2016
• Combined JQuery and Ajax technique to retrieve stock market data, with a stock price chart and news feed associated
with that stock through Markit On Demand, HighStocks, and Bing Search. Implemented the facebook "sharing" function
using Facebook API.
• Deployed the web project onto Google App Engine.
• Transplanted the same project onto iOS mobile version using swift 2.0.
Directed Research at USC/ISI 2 Master Students Supervised by Prof. Daniel Marcu
AI in Education Directed Research - Short answer scoring Jan 2016 – May 2016
• Modulized 3 basic algorithms’ building blocks, configured high performance computing clusters to run the code.
• Written python scripts to evaluate the performance of Jacaard similarity, Levenshtein distance, Word embedding
techniques on test texts.
USC Project 5 Master Students
Startrix Sept 2015 – Nov 2015
• Designed the basic mechanics of an ongoing iOS game based on 3D graphic lib SceneKit in Swift.
• Constructed a game database consists of 100K entries and implemented SQLite database manipulation interfaces
using SwiftData. Implemented constellation class which serve as a mediator between data and graphics.
• Developed basic camera functions including rotation and zooming.
Undergraduate Thesis Supervised by Prof. Renxian Zhang
Automatic Evaluation of English Essay Feb 2015 – June 2015
• Built a prototype of automatic English essay grading system based on machine learning models with natural language
processing techniques. Designed the UI and adapted the system into a web application using Django framework.
• Constructed a 500K-sample scale corpus and researched on the feature representation and learning model selection
using SK-learn, NLTK, and matplotlib in Python.
• System is capable of essay grading, spelling checking, and detection of grammatical errors involving prepositions.
The evaluation has a convincing level with a variety of feedback messages.
