Slide 1 - 4 Buildings have been entered into BC Hydro&apos;s C-Op program.  Project began Summer 2010.Phase 1 - Birch Bldg, 130,000 square feetPhase 2 - Cedar Bldg, 50,000 sq ft.Phase 3 - Fir Bldg, 91,000 sq ft and Library bldg 84,000 sq ft.Electrical consumption is currently being monitored in all 4 buildingsBaseline data is currently being collected.  Once the data has been collected for a minimum of nine months our consultant will begin the investigation phase.

  9. Current Initiatives- Launched a BC Hydro funded Workplace Conservation (WCA)  Campaign- Launched Pulse Energy software as part of our 2010 Green Week activities- Collecting baseline data to run an electrical energy conservation contest in November

Goals- WCA - Key message: Use what you need and nothing more (don&apos;t be wasteful)- reduction of 5% in electrical consumption (approximately $20,600 annual)- we want to achieve community engagement of 20%. (students, faculty, staff, exempt and administration and our on-site janitorial and food services contractors)

What we&apos;ve achieved so far...- Students love the transparency of the dashboard- Janitorial staff like the dashboard- Maintenance staff are looking at buildings consumption from a new/different perspective- Reporting is visual, and creates impact.- We&apos;ve been able to link &apos;waste&apos; within a building to people.... example of the film studio lights left on all weekend - so that we can begin to create training materials that are specific to the building users.- Using Pulse software to engage people, increase awareness and move to taking action to reduce energy.
  12. #1 Challenge- how to get people to engage with the site.Solution- prizes, suggestions- make if fun- one-on-one presentations- personalize in a positive way - use the software to show people they are/can make a difference.
  13. #2 Challenge- Resources - having the time/people to carry the message and keep the website updatedSolution- link the Dashboard to other activities happening on campus.  For example - during classroom presentations, lunch hour tabling events, our Campus Sustainability Network meetings etc.

Lessons learned- working with the Pulse Team is easy - they are passionate about what they&apos;re doing and are willing to experiment and make changes based on customer feedback- promoting energy savings campaigns is not always easy- one on one conversations work better than mass information dumps- there is a ton of energy savings to be had!
