Who has been using Indyreads at their library – please let me know in comments
This is a pacy, evidence based book about reference interview, and for two months we have unlimited simultaneous loans on this title – so after this session you should all be able to go and borrow this – and this will enable you to read some of it before the presentation by Dr Marie Radford, one of the authors, on 17 June.
Each chapter looks at a different aspect of the reference interview including an overview, but also looking at the first 30 seconds, and really finding out what people really are asking for help with – I would suggest that each of you borrows this, to at least have an electronic flick through – we only have unlimited access for this title for two months
This is using the library and information science subject search
This is one of the titles on the list on previous screen
I would suggest borrowing some of these titles just to have a browse – you can also search specifically for readers’ advisory, childrens and other areas but I would say borrow and have a look – you don’t have to read everything cover to cover, but read one or two chapters
Joyce Sarricks is one of the co-authors of this book, some of you would have heard her speak at a readers’ advisory seminar, we are having the co-author speak later this year – date yet to be decided. This is a great book exploring lots of genres with the aim of getting the whole collection working, I would suggest reading a chapter taking action, reading a chapter taking action etc.
There are three copies of this in the collection, and it is well worth reading.

Details will be emailed out later this week.
