The IT & Biscuits program began in 2013
Let’s Talk Legal is a wonderful program that has been developed in partnership with Macarthur Legal Centre with the aim to provide those in our community that most need it with important legal information.
The partnership began when the Director of Macarthur Legal Centre Robert Pelletier contacted us because he felt there was a great need in the Campbelltown community for free legal advice and information and he wanted to find a way for his team to reach these people.
We got together and talked about the topics that we and they felt the community would find most useful and our pilot was born. We combine the legal talks with promotion of the Find Legal Answers toolkit and website as well as relevant pamphlets for the topics so our attendees have multiple avenues for more information. They are also able to book follow up on-on-one appointments with the staff from Macarthur Legal Centre for legal assistance which is free.
Each year we review the program and look at feedback as well as the kind of questions we are being asked in the library and at the centre and use that information to decide on the topics for the following year’s program.
