2. Let me introduce myself.
I am Denis Grigoriev.
I am a student of the 7th
cadet class.
Our school is the best school in Velsky district. As for me,
I have got a lot of opportunities to study well and to take
part in different school and after-school activities. I`m very
proud and happy because I won such School Awards as The
Student of the Year and The Sportsman of the Year. There are
many diplomas and medals in my portfolio. For example, I
am interested in judo and have good results in it. But my
hobby and sport number one is CHESS.
3. Chess is an ancient intellectual game with a long history.
It was invented in India in the 5-6th centuries.
4. Nowadays it is one of the most popular board games. It teaches to think,
develops attention and diligence. In different countries this game has its name:
in England – “chess”, in Spain – “el axedres”,
in Germany – “schach”, in France – “echecs”.
5. There is a chess club “Debut” in our settlement.
It was opened on the 6th of April, 1986. The first
sports competitions took place in 1989. People
of different ages get together, play chess, compete
and have a good time. The students of my school
were the winners and the prize-winners not only
in Kuloy, but also in our district and region. Every
year we win the chess championship “White Rook”
in our district centre Velsk.
6. Several times a week I go to the chess club to play my
favourite sports game. Of course, I try to practise hard
and train properly to do my best, because I am a leading
figure in our school and settlement team. I `ve achieved
much, but my ambition is to win more
medals, cups, prizes and awards and to become a
grandmaster in the future. The students of my school are
proud of me and
call me “our champion”. It`s really nice and touching!
7. I am really lucky because I had a great
chance to take part in All-Russia chess
competitions in different cities of our
country. In 2012 I went to Yaroslavl
where I got a silver medal in the
Northern Railway championship. I was
given a diploma, a lot of presents and
souvenirs.
Later I participated in the competitions
of the Russian Federation among the
children of workers of a railway
transportation. Our team of the Northern
Railway took the third place among the
seventeen railways of Russia. It was a
great success and we were happy and
impressed. That`s unforgettable!
8. SOCHI - 2013
I became the captain of the Northern Railway
team. In October, 2013 I was invited to Sochi
to take part in the chess championship of the
Russian Federation among children. I made
new friends, went sightseeing, played sports.
My dream became true! I visited the “capital”
of the Winter Olympic Games. I was one of
the best chess players. Next year I am going to
Ekaterinburg!!!
9. Nikolai Mikhailovich Rogozin is my chess trainer.
This man is a real professional and a great master
because he has a lot of achievements and he is a
well-known person in Kuloy, in Velsky district and
in the Arkhangelsk Region. He always does his work
seriously and carefully. Thanks to him, people of all
ages play chess in our settlement. Nikolai
Mikhailovich can get on well with children and
adults. He is tolerant and careful, demanding and
strict.
