Collective intelligence emerges from knowledge commons, data hubs, and cooperative platforms that share a digital infrastructure, network of people, data, flat organization without value extraction, and tools for contribution, visualization, analysis, and new digital practices. It develops through clear goals for joint action, recognition of mutual intentions, external representations of tasks and interactions, visibility of actions, and establishment of a commons. Dedicated tools are needed to materialize collaboration, enable joint action, support analysis, archive information, and trace progress to help collective intelligence aggregate, contribute, discuss, visualize, and analyze data.
