1. Farewell Speech in honour of Mr. Satish Kulkarni by Mr. Pravin Mulay
Honorable dais and all, who are here, to honour such a distinguished personality, who is my
teacher, my guide and icon of many, who deserves every word of appreciation and priviledge,
also a stunning model for the vital post of a Vice-Principal, whose role has been so
accountable and creditable for so many years of service and reverence for such a great
institution – the GE Society. He is one, to whom; success has occurred due to continuous and
committed love for work. His distinctive disciplined framework at the workplace and his
immense contribution within the educational environment has always been recorded and
adored. He is none other that our Satish Kulkarni Sir, a person who elevated himself above
the post of a Vice – Principal and offered us marvelous lessons of excellence. Sir, we are so
used to such a pleasing and comfortable association that we can hardly imagine anybody else
in your place.
Satish Sir means a complete professional who qualifies all the prerequisites of the worthy
post as being fundamentally a teacher and a teacher trainer, perfect communicator, a
proficient administrator, a soft skills expert and an updated resource person.
Four years in Oman as an education inspector for many schools and paper reading and
presentation in UK have added many a feathers in his cap. Both these international
assignments have added colours in his life and have bought many a laurels to our institution.
It was due to this inspiration that I took an assignment abroad for two years as an English
language trainer in Bahrain. Thanks from the heart to our honourable Sir M.S. Gosavi Sir, who
have approved and permitted us to know the concept of excellence and professionalism
abroad.
Satish Sir, a man of perfection and excellence elevated the spirit at the college at all levels.
His accessibility to committed colleagues always paved ways for new horizons and
dimensions. It was only due to his openness and freedom that some of us could administer
and manage documents for academic correspondence. He has never forgotten to thank each
one even for the slightest contribution in curricular and extra-curricular activities held in the
campus. As a strong believer of creativity, he supported me a lot to go for novel projects and
comprehensive plans.
A man who always took his staff into confidence and never dictated rules but constantly tried
to convince what is good and what is more right in his own specialized way of
communication. As simple as he appears, he gained respect wherever he stood and walked.
This was only because of the freedom given to the staff and his strong belief that, yes, we
too are responsible. This made every colleague enter his cabin without any nervousness or
anxiety.
His confidence at every mission and approach at every assignment is exceptional and his trust
in himself is extraordinary. What has made him so unique and amazing is his candidness and
thirst for excellence. I am simply honoured to share about Satish Sir, and this
accomplishment is a journey for all those who still try to aspire for greatness.
Thank you Sir, for all that you have bestowed upon us and given us opportunities to excel…
