A large US based multinational with 1,200 retail stores in North America; managed a
department of 16 associates in sourcing and ensuring quality for stores in the United States.
The department provided value added information and intelligence to Dallas Operations
with regards to business practices, competitor’s activities, and trends in the industry.
Leadership functions and achievement included the following:
• Source vendors and managed vendor base to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Created business partnerships with selected vendors
• Created and continuously improved systems to monitor and ensure on-time delivery,
developed and trained associates on new procedures and systems

various government agencies; financial institutions and business organizations
• Recruit, coached and trained staff on a daily basis in achieving best prices, delivery
schedules with vendors and other day-to-day activities and worked closely with

The TELUS National mentorship program allows TELUS team members the opportunity to
be matched with an internationally trained professional in their community. The program is
supported by local Immigrant Employment Councils and the expectation is that the mentor
will support the mentee in building networks in their profession and to better understand the
cultural differences within the Canadian workplace. Being a mentor provided me with the
opportunity to develop leadership and coaching skills, support workplace diversity and
awareness and an opportunity to give back to the community.
