Over 1.7 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine, including 233,000 children, have been accepted into kindergartens, schools, and technical vocational schools. The largest numbers of IDPs are located in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kyiv, Kherson, and Lviv as a consequence of Russian aggression in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. The Ministry of Education and Science adopted 40 new legal acts and instructions to facilitate access to education for IDPs without bureaucracy through various learning methods. Programs have been implemented to build tolerance, provide psychological and social support, and ensure attention is paid to every child, including those from occupied territories.
