Raising a Math Superstar
For parents, the start of another school year is filled with many emotions. Often, one of
these emotions is stress regarding how best to help your child succeed. Sunil Singh, a

math education business, is coming to the Library to discuss how to best prepare your
child for excelling in math.
This seminar will be focused on the kindergarten to grade six Ontario curriculum and will give parents
background knowledge of the curriculum, provide strategies to assist children with homework, and discuss
how to alleviate phobias many children have about math.

Every Child Ready to Read
It’s never too early or too late to help your
child develop language and other early
literacy skills.
By talking, singing, reading, writing and
playing daily, you will assist your children in

These practices are easy to do with children
of all ages. You and your child can enjoy
them throughout the day - at home, in the
car, or anywhere you and your child spend time together.
The Pickering Public Library bases all their programming for children birth to five years on the Every
Child Ready to Read program, an early literacy program developed by the Public Library Association.
Attend one of our storytimes to learn more or talk to one of our library staff.
