painting and other maintenance projects. Handle lines and assist Captain while underway, deck maintenance, and sanitation
while in port. Vessel is maintained to showroom quality, and is shown off to potential LNG clients, during tours, to help solicit
contracts.

During this period I held varies positions and titles related to the operation of one of Florida's busiest search and rescue stations.
In addition to the day to day typical maintenance of station boats, additional duties listed below.
Small Boat operator/crewman:
Operated and crewed stations rescue boats, primarily the two 41' UTBs and 47' MLB; conducted Search and Rescue as well as
law enforcement missions. SAR (search and rescue) missions include: offering assistance to vessels in distress, passing and
operating pumps, firefighting, assisting people in the water, searching for vessels in distress, towing, and recovering casualties.
Training and Safety Petty Officer:
Tained newly arriving members in all areas necessary to ensure operational readiness, and a smoother transition for arriving
members, specific training includes: navigational chart plotting, piloting, navigation rules, seamanship, towing, helicopter
operations, communications watch standing, proper operation of safety and rescue gear and station policies. Produced and
administered tests and training materials, conducted review boards to certify members required competence. Ensured CG
required periodic training was kept current. Most training was conducted while underway which was daily, so ensuring safety
of personnel was essential. In addition was responsible for training LE boarding team members.
Charts and Publications Petty Officer:
Maintained operational readiness of station, and small boats navigational charts and plotting tools. made chart changes
according to NTM publications for all 8 sets of charts at the station and located on station boats.
R&S Petty Officer:
Maintained the stations Rescue and Survival equipment, maintained logs of work performed, to ensure operational and
emergency readiness
Morale Petty Officer:
Was honored to organize events and activities for station personnel and their families to garner esprit de corps. lobbied
leadership for scheduling proposals and fund gathering campaigns to help struggling shipmates, and their families.
Lead Seaman USCG Cutter Courageous, 01/2000 - 10/2001
United States Coast Guard - Panama City, FL
Upon graduation from USCG Training Center Cape May, NJ, was assigned to the 210' Coast Guard Cutter Courageous. While
not underway, worked as a member of the deck department, preparing rusting surfaces for primer and paint, performed
preventive maintenance on fire and rescue equipment. In addition, performed maintenance of ships lines, wire rope, life and
fast-response boats as well as their davits and cranes. undertook inshore security and safety rounds of ships mechanical, deck,
and stowage spaces.
Underway worked on deck:
handling mooring lines, lashing and refueling helos, standing lookout and helm watch, and fulfilling my responsibilities
according to ship's station bill. Assisted in anti-narco and migrant interdiction, small boat launch and recover operations, and
towing operations. As lead seaman, responsible for ensuring tasks ordered were performed to supervisor's satisfaction, and
helping mentor new or troubled sailors. Due to ship mechanical issues was selected to be sent 90 daysTAD (temporary duty)
to the 378' Coast Guard Cutter Galliton the largest and fastest class of white hull ships in the USCG. Quickly qualified to
perform lookout and helm watch. Received very positive letters of thanks from the Captain, and gained the trust and respect of
my temporary shipmates.
