!COURIER CORPORATION, Westford, MA 1983-2015

!Applications Specialist, 2000-2015
Managed the flow of up to 50 new and reprint jobs per week through a multi-step process from
receipt of initial electronic copy through final press ready copy in a fast paced high quality
system.
!• Shipped a large job on time that was in danger of being late by discovering that the shipping
containers had not been ordered, expediting the processing of an emergency purchase
order and identifying alternative boxes that could be used for the initial shipping quantity.
• Found a missing film file for a reprint job that had been scheduled by researching the
computer data base, crosschecking for related jobs, finding the job in question and verifying
that the file was accurate and complete, then corrected the storage records in the computer.
• Responded to a customer’s urgent email regarding the status of a large job when no CSR
was available by investigating the progress of the job, verifying the schedule for the
remaining steps and responding quickly with the accurate ship date.
• Corrected a film quality error in a reprint of a book caused when two new pages were added
by identifying the source of the problem and rerunning the entire job with the correction in
place.
• Resolved a reprint issue that prevented pages from aligning with each other by reviewing
the electronic files, identifying that the new pages were a slightly different size, then notifying
the customer who provided corrected files.
• Rectified a quality issue on a job where the customer sent in files that had three different
measurements for size and margins by repairing the trim sizing and having the customer
okay or replace the other files.
• Produced a special order involving one book with two stories where each story started from
the opposite end of the book by pre-flighting each story into the computer, turning one
upside down and calculating the page numbering so that the stories met in the middle of the
book.
• Corrected a customer issue by notifying the customer of the problem, suggesting a solution
and getting the customer’s approval to proceed.
