3. What is the STaR Chart? STaR is an acronym for School Technology and Readiness It provides an annual snapshot of technology integration progress It is aligned with the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology The data is collected through an annual survey that evaluates professional technology integration at campus, district and state levels.
5. Key Area Trends Teaching & Learning - A moderate increase was detected in the second year but slipped slightly in the third year. Educator Preparation & Development-Increased after the first of the three years and remained constant for the last two consecutive years. Leadership, Administration, & Instructional Support -There has been a steady increase over the past three years. Administrators continually model the use of technology with staff and support it’s use in the classroom. Infrastructure for Technology-Increased after the first of the three years and remained constant for the last two consecutive years.
6. Summary Teaching and learning shows up as our greatest weakness. Even though a few teachers may not see the need to change, there are many who would like to implement classroom technology but will neglect it when time becomes issue of concern.
