DATA CENTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN – SUSQUEHANNA INTERNATIONAL GROUP JUL 2014 – JAN 2015
Working as part of a team my role included the following task:-
Design and fit out of a new Data Centre from initial Cabinet deployment through to inter floor cabling infrastructure. Data Centre
also included Carrier room, IDF rooms, Telecom rooms, Burn room, Build Room and IT support room.
Delivery management of Data Centre components into the new building from third parties.
Provided hands-on support to Facilities on the installation of HVAC, electrical distribution systems, UPS system, Power Generators,
Fire and Building CCTV Security systems.
RFID - Asset management of equipment and waste disposal of all packaging materials
Physical installation of HP and Dell servers, Arista and Cisco Network switches and other devices within the data center.Further
developed my skills on Networking using TCP/IP and Switch Configurations and builds.
Managed the base configuration of Windows (2007 & 2012) and Linux Servers and Cisco and Arista Network Switches and the
racking of same. Build out of servers to include loading Linux OS (Oracle 5.9) configure and document procedures for other team
members to follow.
Completed inter cabinet patching of Single Mode and Multi-Mode fibre cabling along with the CAT 6adata connections. Installed
Baytech redundant power modules in all cabinets and networked to management control BMS system. Uploaded and maintained
the database of all equipment Data Centre and IDF Vs’ locations.
Assisted 3rd parties on the installation of building Data Cabling infrastructure, Telecom SIP trunks, Dark Fibre to BCP site.
Building all new desktops for the entire office.
Documented Processes and Procedures on best practices for managing the infrastructure within the Data Centre, including H&S
policies, System build out, networking connections, inter cabinet connections, server and network deployment, etc.
Used Management tools such as Nagios to track Hardware faults
Supported the Installation of an EMC VNX and the migration of SAN and NAS from existing site to new Data Centre.
Provided Tier 1 support on Data Centre and Colocation sites on a shift rotational basis to ensure maximum availability of facility
infrastructure, hardware and network infrastructure.
Provided remote hands diagnostics, troubleshooting and quick/efficient resolution to all problems.
Supporting Network and Systems team on infrastructure and new builds.
MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR OF MELIA CCS HOTEL – RODAN25 FEB 2013 – JAN 2014
Supervising and managing a team of 15 staff the majority being painters and carpenters in ensuring this four star was maintained to
its highest level.
Managed the shift rota and payroll for the workers.
Documented using Autocad 2009 all changes and modifications to the infrastructure of the hotel including the plumbing, electrical
and civil changes that were made to the Hotel during this time.

Provided Technical support on Dell and HP servers, and the accommodation of them. To provide secure caged environment with
services such as resilient power, high speed internet, inter cabinet connectivity and systems alarm management.
Upgrading and replacing device hardware such as DIMMs, RAID controllers, line cards, power supplies, HBAs, SFPs, etc.
Provided CAT5 and CAT6 cables to exact length. All terminated and tested in advance of installation.
Facilities support with infrastructure to include UPS, Generator, Building Management System, CCTV and Security personnel.
