THE SHAREPOINT
DEVELOPER PLATFORM
Software developers can use the SharePoint 2010 developer platform to build business collaboration applications for
the enterprise and the Web using familiar tools and a rich set of integrated, out-of-the-box features. SharePoint 2010
includes new extensible framework features for building business collaboration applications, including Silverlight™ web
parts and Client APIs, LINQ to SharePoint, Business Connectivity Services, Sandboxed Solutions, and new SharePoint List
data relationships. With business connectivity services, developers can easily integrate line-of-business data in SharePoint
and Microsoft Office client solutions with read/write capability. Sandboxed Solutions can be deployed to a shared hosting
environment in an intranet, or a shared hosting service like SharePoint Online. Developers can more productively build
SharePoint solutions with Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation Server 2010, and the new SharePoint Designer 2010.
