                                             makes the title look dominant.

-This is a representation of the

Camera–Shots
                                    Shot – Establishing Shot
Gives you a idea of where
the location is. Or where a
                                    scene is being set.
                                                                  Shot – Close up
                                                                  Close up usually focuses on
a subject or a persons whole
                                                                  head in one frame.
They used this is this shot to
                                                                  show main characters
                                                                  emotion.

Shot – Extreme Close Up
Extreme close ups are shot to
show specific detail, reaction or
emotion of a particular thing.
Camera–Angle
                                            Point of view/High angle
A point of view shot is positioned
between a shot and a object or subject
to show what the character is looking at
or talking to on the opposite side.
This is done in this shot to show what
the character is reaching out to get. This
                                            shot represents his eyes.

Canted Angle
This is a camera angle which is
deliberately slanted to one side.

This is used in this scene for a dramatic
effect to portray dramatic effect to help
portray unease, intoxication or madness.
Camera–Movement
2 Screen Shots

   Tracking movement
   - A tracking shot is a movement perpendicular to the camera lens axis.
   - This is done in the sequence to show a slow steady motion of the long
strand of hair in detail on the ground.
Sound
• Non – Diagetic

- At the beginning of the sequence non diagectic sounds starts off very calm and relaxed.

- It then gradually builds tension.

- Instruments used sounds like a Piano (intense soft music) playing throughout.

• Diagetic

- Halfway through the sequence I could hear diagectic sounds of him shaving his hair off his skin.

• There was diagectic sounds of him washing himself.

• There was also sounds of the shower.
Special–Effects
            Colour
            Not really sure what this
            represents.
            Looks like this has been
saturated to make it look more
like a early hours of the
morning scene or a mid day
            scene.
This effect is used to make it
look like a sunny bright day.
Transitions
                              Fade in and Fade Out
                              - This transition shows him from
scraping of bits of his skin to
                              having a shower.

There is a fade in and fade
out in between this to show
that time is dragging on.
Editing/Pace

Pace
The 3 screenshots shown above is
showing a extreme close up of nail
slowly falling on the ground in slow
pace.
This is done to show the audience Editing
exactly what object is.
                                       Slow fading
Mise–en–scene
       Setting
-The setting is very isolated. Shows that he is on
his own most of the time.
       - a isolated setting looks very undercover when
       somebody is always alone.

                            Lighting
There is a lot of dark
                            lighting.
                            This scene in the sequence
                            shows him having a shower
in the dark with very low
                            lighting.
                            This shows that his identity
                            is very hidden.

           Props
There is a lot of props like skin, nails
and hair. Parts of the body substances
Shows that he does not want to be
himself or he is changing his
           appearance
The Ring
2nd Opening Sequence Analysis
Camera Shots
Extreme close up
This is used to show
her scared, terrified
feeling towards
opening the door

                                Long Shot
                                Shows the slow steady
journey she took to walk to
                                the door. Building
                                suspense by using no cuts
                                or a quick pace.
Camera Angle
                                            Low angle
                                            This was used
                                            throughout this part of
                                            the sequence

Low angle
This low angle focuses
on her feet and her
pace walking towards
the door
                    Low angle
                    This angle is used to
                    show her hesitation
                    towards walking down
                    the corridor.
Camera Movement

Zoom in and
                   Zoom in and
Zoom out camera It was used here
Zoom out camera movements are not to show a quick
movements
very natural in filming but it is used to reaction of her
                   show action. emotion
Sound
• Non – Diagetic
The non diagectic sounds that I heard sounded like a broken nursery rhyme.
   This relates to children.

Then after the nursery rhyme stops, the music gets very serious almost
sounding like electric guitars and heavy metal. This shows that it gradually
   gets more intense and thrilling.

Diagetic Sounds
High pitched sound coming from the TV (airy randomness)
Sounds of children laughing it sounds very echoed almost ghost like sounds.
Special Effects
• Fast Forward and Rewind (Blood
    going into water)

• Then rewind effect to show its going
    back up

• A range of black and white colour
Transitions
• A lot of
  inconsistency,
  cutting fade in and
  out Editing/Pace
                        No cuts (Long shot when
                        she was walking)
                        This was slow pace
                        This creates tension
