3. •Dr. Bani Ghosh holds a Ph. D. in Economics from Victoria University
and has published in Management Science and Singapore Maritime
and Port Journal. She has taught at Boston University, Penn State,
Wellesley College and Emmanuel College. She has also worked for
Bengal Chamber of Commerce in India and BHP in Australia.
Dr. Ani Dasgupta holds a Ph. D. in Economics from Princeton and a
Masters in Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute. He has taught
at Tufts University and Boston University. Prof. Dasgupta has
published in Journal of Economic Theory and Management
Science. He was a chief economist and has worked as a consultant
for over seven years.
Dr. Paul Szwed- Doctor of Science in Engineering Management,
George Washington University. M.Eng. Naval Architecture,
University of California, Berkeley; M.S. Operations Research,
University of California, Berkeley; M.S. Environmental
Management, University of San Francisco; B.S. Ocean Engineering,
U.S. Coast Guard Academy with over twenty years in the United
States Coast Guard.
4. Professor Charlie Norz- Graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy,
Former Senior VP of Amerada Hess. Prof. Norz brings his decades of
invaluable experience to the classroom in Chartering and Brokerage and
Business of Shipping.
Professor Michael Rauworth- J.D., University of Virginia, School of Law, B.S.,
University of Chicago. Admiralty Law Practitioner for over twenty years. He is a
former professional seafarer. In over 200,000 sea miles, he advanced his license
to master, sail, steam, and motor vessel of any tonnage, master of towing
vessels, and first-class pilot. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme
Court of the United States and several lower courts.
Professor Shu Tian- Ph.D. in Finance/Accounting from the University of
New Orleans, Sam Houston State University, TX; M.S., B.A., M.S.
Shandong University, China. started teaching at MMA in 2010. Her
teaching interests lie in Investment, International Finance, Corporate
Finance, Options and Futures, and Personal Finance

Association of Maritime Universities
(IAMU). The students submit a
paper/presentation at this international
conference . In October, 2013, the
conference was held in Romania and
IMB students Andrew Barbato, Kelsie
Brien and Diana Kurek won best
presentation diploma.
