Procurement responsibilities for an $80 million portfolio in a high volume security and RF device product line.
Commodities include OEM product and LCD’s (displays), batteries, touch panels, contract manufacturers & power
supplies / transformers.
Lead a Team of ( 9) Buyers in direct purchases totaling $185 mill., on day to day issues,initiatives and PPV (Purchase
Part Variance) efforts, ERP training and mentoring for Buyer development, including interviewing and hiring of new
Buyers.
Achieved substantialcost reductions ( over $650K per year last three years ), managed a portfolio that grew 400%,
delivered on time to a high volume environment with many fluctuations in scheduling.
Work closely with Head Office Product & Program Management folks on OEM portfolio, negotiating and establishing
Agreements.
Re-vamped the Tyco Corporate MasterSupply and Purchasing Agreement, reduced from 36 pages to 14, accepted by

for printed circuit board assemblies.

consolidated cost reduction program. Chose the suppliers, negotiated, assisted in writing and set in place Purchasing
Agreements with the major suppliers for customers such as the Dell Computer Corporation
Negotiated hard and aggressively during the process of working through individual quoting opportunities to achieve the
most competitive pricing necessary to win new business.
1997/98 real cost savings totaling approximately $2 million on purchases of approximately $8 million of direct business.
Also contributed to significant cost savings on multi-million dollar purchases through distribution.
Quoted all material for new potential customers. Material costing was generally 75% of final cost proposal.
Developed strategies with sales and management. The resulting landed business was at least $100 million, as high as $150
million, all new turnkey (including complete box build ) business in later 1998, 1999 for a company whose sales in 1998
were approximately $300 million.
Awarded business consisting of numerous $5 million plus packages as well as a few $20-$40 million awards.
Assisted in setting up and inputting a Supplier Management Database through Lotus Notes for all North American and
European sites to utilize.
Negotiated with major suppliers to utilize Electronic Schedule Sharing through the use of flat top files over the Internet
and prepared suppliers to be ready for Web Enabled quoting while the company implements webPLAN for material
scheduling.

Found new sources to support Toronto, Kentucky and England plants with electronic, plastic and stamped part purchases
for IBM laser printer power supplies.
1996 real cost savings totaled approximately $600,000 on direct business purchases of approximately $4 million.
Moved expediently $2 million in electronic purchases from a major supplier to a new supplier avoiding production
problems in a worldwide market shortage environment.
