Work Experience
Benada Aluminum IT Manager July 2014 – Present
I am in charge of all major IT infrastructure and software projects for the entire company, and have recently been
put in charge of streamlining manufacturing processes and implementing new technologies that increase
productivity. My main charge is to ensure that my team completes projects in a timely manner, and implements
them with as little impact on the manufacturing environment as possible.
• I engineered and implemented a fully functioning virtual server that hosted sessions to people
working from their phones, eliminating the need for workstations on the floor.
• Using that same technology, I implemented barcode scanning, forgoing the need for bulky
workstations and hand scanners.
• Led my team in a total rewiring of the company's old 25pair network and replaced it with high speed
fiber.
• Currently working on a front end website that will allow customers to view their orders, and
eventually, place orders without having to speak to a CSR.
• Led my team in taking over Crystal Report writing for the company, taking the burden off of
Accounting, but also cluing our department in to some major issues with employees inputting
erroneous data.
• Wrote several stored procedures using SQL-T that copied specific tables from an EPICS database
to a Traverse database to allow for better inter-connectivity of accounting and manufacturing.
Dell – Park Nicollet Clinics Lead Technician/Project Manager Feb 2013 – June 2014
I worked as a contractor for Park Nicollet. I started as a Field tech, got promoted to Lead technician, and
currently work as a Project Manager. for the state. I manage trouble tickets, schedule outgoing, and incoming
tech shipments, and work on a large scale (over 7500 computers) migration to HP hardware, and Windows 7
OS. I was also in charge of working with the client supervisors managing expectations for projects, and
managing lower tier techs, and ensuring work gets done when promised.
• Started as a field tech, and within three months was promoted to Lead Field Tech.
• In six months was promoted to Project Manager with over 20 employees under my direct
2. supervision.
• Was put in charge of migrating an entire facility of over 300 computers from Windows Xp to
Windows 7.
Render Rocket LLC. IT Manager Jan 2012 – Jan 2013
I was in charge of maintaining the render farm of over 150 nodes using Vmware View to maintain the installs of
OS, and software packages, installing new equipment, and deploying installs to different collocations. I also
developed pipeline scripts in support of new render software packages.
• Created documentation for common procedures used in troubleshooting client side issues, and
network level issues.
• Created MSI packages that installed, and registered software packages when deploying, or
redeploying virtual render nodes.
• Created various automation scripts using max script, batch script, maya script, lua, and other
common scripting languages.
• Was promoted after my first month of employment from Tier 1 Support, to IT Manager.
HighTech High School Director of IT Feb 2010 – Jan 2012
I was in charge of a technology based High School's IT department. I managed Interns, taught a class in
technology, and maintained the servers, phones, and network. While I was with HighTech LA, we separated from
LAUSD and went Charter. I was responsible for migrating them to a new dedicated T1 line, a new subnet class,
and replacing LAUSD equipment with our own systems, and for migrating several servers to one server using
Vmware View.
• In charge of re-imaging over 400 laptops, and desktops in two months every summer. As a result I
had to come up with a quicker way to do this, so using open source linux solutions found a way to
image 20 laptops at a time
• Created the school only documentation of the network including diagrams, and blueprints of the
network, and lan infrastructure layout.
• Switched the entire network from LAUSD to a private PRI line when the school went Charter, and
split from the district.
• Oversaw, and coordinated the install of new PRI line, and setup up routers, and switches to use the
new network, eliminating the need for fiber access to other campuses.
• Also taught a class in Network Administration.
DOE Legal Systems Admin/EDD Admin Jan 2008 – Feb 2010
I was in charge of maintaining a server farm with over 100 servers both physical, and virtual in a legal litigation
setting using Citrix virtual servers. I also worked in the EDD (Electronic Data Discovery) department ripping data
from drives using forensic tools, and processing that data into TIFFs for presentation in court.
• I was put in charge of the backup systems, and installed, and maintained the 24 tape backup library
which, after considerable configuration, was capable of backing up 1.5 tbytes of data every day.
• I was also put in charge of maintaining the data center, and also helped to start our green energy
project which, when I left, was saving the company 500 dollars a month on it's electricity bill, which
the goal of saving over 2000 by the end of three years.
JF Sobieski Network Admin Sep 2003 – Jan 2008
While working at JF Sobieski I was in charge of maintaining all network servers, as well as workstations running
all forms of software from Solomon data entry, all the way to AutoCAD design software. I also built all of our new
workstations and servers, and helped create the data and voice network for a newly built office building.
• Automated the importing of cut sheet data into a plasma cutter for use inside of autocad which
eliminated the costly need of human input, and error.
• Migrated their network from a windows 2000 and nt server environment to a 2003 server system.
• Migrated all users from windows 98, to XP, and upgraded older computers that couldn't handle the
OS.
• Moved an entire building into a new building, and helped engineer the electricians blueprints to meet
our specific networking, and power needs.
3. ARMY National Guard Network Admin Nov 1999 – Nov 2003
In boot camp I was trained in the ins and outs of cisco based communications, as well as basic analog patch
panel wiring for field communications. I was later put in charge of the communications nerve center for the state
headquarters in the Delaware National Guard. Later I was promoted to Network Admin at the DOIM, which
served as the data center for other units all around the state.
• I was in charge of deploying images to computers throughout the state.
• I helped to implement software which allowed us to manage workstations remotely, eliminating the
need for costly trips throughout the state.
