PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
 Provided oversight and direction of numerous programs to include: family readiness, single Marine Program,
safety, ranges and training areas, sexual assault prevention, behavioral health, substance abuse, employee
promotion and retention, equal opportunity, recreation, and transition from active service.
 Reviewed, analyzed, and summarized program data necessary to support Marine Corps Community Services
Business Operations while maintaining a balanced budget.
 Headed the civilian employee safety program (Voluntary Protection Program) that was implemented for over
4,000 employees. Safety mishaps were greatly decreased and operational readiness increased.
 Coordinated with the Marine Corps Installations East – Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Community Plan Liaison
Officer to maintain liaison and information network distribution between the Installation Staff and Community
Stakeholders.
 Developed and implemented sweeping changes to the single service member recreation programs that were
adopted by the entire Marine Corps to engage, retainand enhance the lives of young Marines.
 Served as a standing member of the Town of Swansboro, North Carolina Economic Planning Team to ensure
future economic growth is closely aligned to the local military installations future visions.
 Forged new partnerships to ensure unity of effort with the service member’s transition readiness program to
assist separating service members with a seamless transition into the civilian environment.
 Coordinated with the Installation Energy Manager to meet and exceed all Department of Defense and
Department of the Navy mandated energy conservation goals.
 Provided leadership, coordination, and direction in the development and implementation of the Veterans In
Piping Program, a program where transitioning service members aretrained as welders and guaranteedjob
placement in a geographic region of their choice.
 Worked closely with the Family Readiness programs at all levels to provide support for the military members and
families. Facilitated Family Care Plan development and oversight. These programs are designed specifically to
facilitate the retention and expert performance of Marines while ensuring the engagement and stability of the
families.
 Developed a close and cooperative working relationship with local area Chambers of Commerce and Military
Affairs Committee to ensure all programs and resources on and off the installation effectively support service
members and their families.
HUMAN RESOURCES
 Advised and assisted the Commanding General on legal, personal and professional development of all personnel,
and development and implementation of command and staff policies to create a positive work environment and
effective communication practices; monitored equal employment opportunity activities.

 Principle advisor to the commanding officer of a recruiting station Raleigh, North Carolina covering over 46,000
square miles consisting of thirteen recruiting sub-stations, twenty-one permanent contact stations, two officer
selection teams, and two military entrance process center liaisons, that recruited over 110 enlisted and officer
applicants per month. Volume and quality of applicants made a direct contribution to the largest all volunteer
force growth in the history of the Marine Corps.
 Oversaw the promotions program for an organization of over 11,000 active duty service members.
 Supervised and chaired the meritorious advancement boards.
 Participated in hiring board for the civilian labor force and Marine Corps Community Services for key and
essential personnel to include senior management positions.
 MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION
 Executive Advisor to the Commanding General of all East Coast Marine Corps installations consisting of six bases
and air stations covering North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida with an population over 108,000
active duty, civilian employee, family members and retirees.
 Executive Advisor to the Commanding General of the International Security Assistance Force, Regional Command
Southwest Afghanistan. Command which consisted of 15,000 coalition forces from the United States, Great
Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Bosnia, Jordan, Republic of Georgia and Tonga.
 Provided oversight to local military and federal agencies with the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South
Carolina Townsend Bombing Rangeassumption of land area and operations from the Georgia National Guard.
 Collaborated with the Marine Corps and Installations Behavioral HealthPrograms and supervised the training
and program implementation to integratebehavioral health operations and training for leadership to create
efficient and effective interventions maximizing personal and unit readiness.
 Coordinated staff and procedural improvements in the Department of Defense mandated Transition Readiness
Seminar so that all transitioning service members here better prepared to transition from active military service.
 Orchestrated the development of the Marine Corps Community Services Advisory Committee so that executive
leadership could provide recommendations for the maximum effectiveness of all programs provided during
fiscally challenging times.
 Collaborated with the Installation Emergency Management Department to plan and execute exercises on the
bases and stations. Coordinated efforts with local, state and federal agencies.
 Made liaison with the Marine Corps Directorof Business Operations (MR) on planning and budgeting eighty-four
programs and services provided to service members and their families.
 Served as the Marine Corps Installations East member to the Marine Corps Bachelor and Family Housing
Oversight Boards.
 Advised Marine Corps executive leaders on sensitive and detailed security matters. Generated increased physical
security of all East Coast Marine Corps Installations by maximizing available manpower and resources to
guaranteeprotection to service members, employees and their family members.
 Provided leadership and oversight of the Commanding Generals Military Retiree Council providing an essential
link between the Installation and the local retired military community.
 Reconciled training resource allocations and usage to ensure maximum effectiveness.
 Worked with Marine Corps Family Team Building to supervise and evaluate the pre-deployment training and
family care plan development for a joint and coalition force of 15,000 to prepare for overseas operations, and
oversaw and evaluated the effectiveness during around-the-clock operations.
