STATEMENT
As Chief Program Officer of Nashville CARES, TN's Premiere HIV Service Agency, I set the course for
Ending the AIDS Epidemic, effecting a coordinated system of comprehensive approaches to achieve
that vision. My legacy includes examples of sustained, exceptional leadership in a variety of
professional arenas with accolades from the USAF, AIDS Institute, NIH CTSA, APHA, CROI and others.
My professional foci create unique synergies, relationships and the resources to effect successful
discoveries that improve health among communities and achieve agencies visions.
EXPERIENCE
Chief Program Officer August 2011 - Present
Nashville CARES, Nashville, Tennessee
 Set strategic and tactical visions for a diverse team of 60+ community health workers, public
health, social work, behavioral health specialist professionals and our vital relevant support
staff, and effect and manage an annual budget of $4M+.
 Develop and align key community partnerships and resources to implement, assess and inform
an organized, comprehensive set of constructs, programs and processes that improve and
enhance HIV prevention, care, treatment and care support to effect the End of AIDS in Middle
Tennessee.
 Translate scientific behavioral science into 60+ distinct social and public health interventions
reaching a diverse set individuals (MSM, AAMSM, IDU/AOD, Women, Youth, PLWHA).
 Serve as Community Principal Investigator on research conducted with Vanderbilt University,
the Medical College of Wisconsin (CAIR), Meharry Medical Center, the Tennessee Department
of Health and others impacting behavioral science design, evaluation and application.
 Effect demonstrable, positive organizational culture changes leading to sustained exceptional
performance and recognition within the local non-profit community (see team building).
 Provide technical assistance to local, state and national program planners.
 Utilize TQM/CQI concepts in department, agency management and strategic planning effecting
operational efficiency and cost savings through ongoing analysis.
 Conduct personal and professional development of identified leaders and emerging leaders to
assure excellence in program and agency operations, and to effect long-term strategic
objectives of ending AIDS in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

health programming from 7 interventions to 15 interventions and strategies. Grew volunteer
