To whom it may concern:
Are you looking for an exceptionally flexible individual, with a broad-based IT background, and strong
interpersonal & problem-solving skills?
I have 20 years of systems administration experience at True North Molds: a local automotive rubber
sealing systems plant. When I started at True North it was a Unix Solaris network and a Windows for
Workgroups network using thicknet as the network backbone. I grew that network into a Windows
Server 2012 network with a heterogeneous collection of workstations and other devices on gigabit
Ethernet.
I have been a ‘one stop shop’ for the company. I considered all employees to be my customers. I did all
aspects of the job from designing the network to running the wires and configuring the server and
workstations and CNC’s machines and all other networked devices.
When the company experienced hard times during the automotive and tool and die crash I learned
Simply Accounting and did payables and receivables to help better support the organization as it
struggled. I was also in charge of the shipping.
Two aspects about me that may not be apparent in my resume is my commitment to the company, and
the soft skills I have when interacting with others. At True North there were a number of things that
were mission critical and I made sure the company knew I would never let them down. If something
needed fixing at night or on the weekend then that is what I did. I consider this to be a necessary
attribute of my job when supporting a company. Due to the financial situation at the company, I have
been let go from True North but still field calls from them and help solve problems as they arise. I can
think of few better references than still being held in high regard by my former employer.
In terms of personality, I am extremely versatile, and am able to effectively communicate with both
introverts and extroverts with equal ease, a vital skill in any IT environment.
Thank you for your consideration.
