Back to the basics: Bubbly, a voice-based messaging
application, has introduced a payment solution that does
not require a credit card. Their secret? Simply use the
operator’s bill!
10 years ago, the only way to make end-user pay for
mobile services was through their operator bill. The
operator, as Apple or Google today, took their share and
repaid the service providers.
It seems quite clever to rely back on this old trick to
make in-app payment available for end-users like kids or
Android users that do not have to give their credit card
information to configure their smartphone.

On the recto, a smartphone or a tablet is a huge touch-screen, a
few buttons and a tiny camera. On the verso, though, apart a
camera, it’s basically plastic and a logo, sometime both quite
ugly… There are cases to hide them, but it’s usually not much
more than more plastic.
This makes come to an end, because innovative
companies have decided to colonize the rear back
of smartphones to make them worse something!
Thus, UK startup Cliq wants to provide extra buttons
to users to setup some shortcuts for their device
features.
Given the success of personalized cases for smartphones,
giving them some extra power looks like a very bright idea.

Be green, use solar energy!
Charging small electric devices with solar
captor that transform solar energy into
electricity is a quite proven technology
nowadays. More interesting are the
approaches that consist in integrating such
solar captor directly into a display touch-
screen.
Such a technology has been introduced a few years
ago by a French company, called Wysips, and is now a
patent owned by Apple.
