Another threat to traditional WEB (content exposed
in sites viewed in browsers): Google announces that
the latest AdWords enhancements were focusing on
application promotions.
But Google’s move toward promoting applications
seems to follow a global trend of advertisers
switching to ad networks that innovate in application
advertisement (Vungle, AdColony or
MoPub, acquired by Twitter, which announced native
ads for the mobile Twitter application).
As google states: “it’s not really about mobile, it’s
about consumers”, which clearly means consumers
are now massively moving from old WEB to mobile
applications.

WEB giants are likely to become ecological leaders.
Apple and Google are multiplying “green” initiatives, especially
regarding power sources for their hosting centers. Solar
farm, wind energy or financially participating to ecological
programs are some of those initiatives.
When governments seem unable to legislate on ecological
rules, lead will have to come from other sources.

Microsoft looked badly wounded, especially after Windows 8 first
disillusions and Nokia never-ending decline…
Apple, Google, Amazon and Facebook share the king’s throne.
But…
But Microsoft is not any company and seems to
have lately taken some pretty clever moves: Office
suite is available on iPad and has good reviews;
Windows 8 becomes universal (in terms of
development and w/ the Microsoft cloud);
Microsoft is addressing the enterprise business
with some pretty decent tools (including Lync);
even Bing is increasing its market share over
Google Search!
Giants are quite hard to get rid off…
