4. A Family History
Patrick Baugier’s ancestors started their negociant
business in the 17th century.
In the 18th century, Edme Baugier wrote Memoires
Historiques de la Province de Champagne V1 & 2,
detailing the history of Champagne.
In the 20th century, Patrick’s father Jacques Baugier
was the head of the Saint-Emilion Wine Growers
Association, one of the largest organizations in all of
France managing more than 25% of the appellation.
In 1988, Metrowine Distribution Inc. was founded in
the USA by Patrick Baugier.
