PATRICIA HAY-JUSTICE
ABOUT PATRICIA
Patricia Hay-Justice works across a wide variety of areas, including
business and local Government. She was elected Major of London
Borough of Croydon – the largest of London’s 34 boroughs – in April
2015.
REGENERATING CROYDON
Patricia has spent her Mayoral year meeting senior Government officials, international, national and
local business representatives in her aim to encourage further regeneration within Croydon, building
upon the £5.5 billion already committed.
Her skills as a strategist, negotiator, networker, fund raiser and speaker have proved invaluable in
promoting the borough and the Mayoral charities. She can connect with people across the whole
spectrum of society, regardless of age, background or seniority.
She has been the driving force of civic life in Croydon, community engagement and regeneration.
She has been successful in raising the profile of this dynamic and growing borough, through her 700
plus engagements, which include business breakfasts, lunches and events for State Commissioners,
where she has addressed audiences.
Patricia has also put her planning and project management skills to great use with a number of high
profile events, such as the Mayor’s Comedy Night and the Mayor’s Gala Dinner, both of which raised
significant funds for Patricia’s nominated charities, MIND in Croydon and young person’s homeless
charity CAYSH.
PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Her professional career has primarily been spent in property and facilities management for NHS
Trusts and large commercial organisations, where she was in charge of multi-disciplinary teams, £60
million projects, £5.5 million contracts, cultural change, large-scale relocation projects, strategic
planning and new business generation.
Recently Patricia has been working as a consultant, building on the skills gained previously, with
community groups and small businesses, advising on building design, planning, project management
of capital projects and budgeting. She also manages her own personal property portfolio.
NEXT STEPS
Looking forward, Patricia is looking to get involved in further initiatives and businesses where she
can make a significant contribution, whether as a trustee, consultant, non-executive director or as
an active member of their management team.
