American Association for Justice (AAJ) Trial Advocacy Scholarship
This scholarship is open to all second and third-year AAJ Law Student Members. Successful applicants
must demonstrate a commitment to AAJ and a dedication to its mission through extensive involvement
in AAJ student chapter activities. They must also express a desire to represent victims, exhibit an
interest and proficiency and skills in trial advocacy, and show a financial need for the scholarship.
Applicants must submit a short essay on how they meet the criteria and a recommendation from a
faculty advisor, trial advocacy professor, dean, AAJ member, or trial lawyer.

Appleman Law Firm Criminal Defense Law Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students attending an accredited law school. It is designed to support
those who have managed to turn their lives around and made better choices after a conviction.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: 1) Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, 2) Have a
criminal record (this information to be held in confidence), 3) Be enrolled or accepted to an accredited
law school in the United States, and 4) Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. As one of the

Attorney-CPA Foundation
The foundation awards these scholarships to selected students who have completed the second year of
law school and who show a commitment to the accounting profession as evidenced by a CPA
certificate. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding academic performance. The scholarships are for
one year only. Application is available online. The foundation also holds essay contests with a Grand
Prize of $2,500.

Auto Accident Law Firm Survivor Scholarship
From Appel Law Firm LLP, a Bay Area injury practice, this scholarship is to be awarded to a U.S. citizen or
permanent resident, who has sustained injuries from a car or truck accident or been affected by
someone else’s accident. Graduate and Law School students are encouraged to apply. Applicants must
be enrolled in an accredited college or university within the United States and must have a cumulative
GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Baumgartner Law Firm – Law Student Scholarship
The Baumgartner Law Firm offers an annual scholarship to one law school student per year based on
financial need and commitment to helping others. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited law

awarded to someone accepted and enrolled at an accredited law school at the time of scholarship

Borowitz & Clark Law School Scholarship
This scholarship is for a law student who plans to practice in the fields of bankruptcy or consumer law.
To be eligible, applicants must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA at an accredited law school and be able to
demonstrate an interest in bankruptcy or consumer law. To be considered, applicants are required to
submit an application detailing course of study and law school transcripts.

Brown PC National Law Scholarships
In an effort to give back, Brown PC is offering four distinct scholarships to second and third year U.S.
law students who demonstrate interest in tax law, business law, criminal law or intellectual property
law. The awards will be paid directly to the student, and can be used for any expenses related to legal
education, including but not limited to tuition, room, board, books, bar review courses, or commuting
expenses.

California Bar Foundation’s Diversity in the Public Interest- Bar Exam Scholarship
This scholarship supports bar exam expenses for recent and soon-to-be California law school
graduates, who have diverse backgrounds and plan to pursue public interest careers. Diversity includes
a broad array of backgrounds and life experiences, including students from groups or with skills or
attributes that are underrepresented in the legal profession, and specifically including students from
socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

California Teachers Association Scholarships
The California Teachers Association (CTA) offers two scholarship programs. Online applications are
usually available in mid-October and recipients are announced in June of each year.
1) CTA Scholarship for Dependent Children—35 $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to
dependent children of active, retired or deceased members of CTA. Applicant must be claimed as
dependent status on current year’s IRS tax forms.
2) CTA Scholarship for Members—five $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually to active CTA
members, including members working on an emergency credential.

Debt Relief Legal Clinic Scholarship
Debt Relief Legal Clinic, a bankruptcy law firm based in San Diego, is giving back to the community by

Earl Warren Scholarship
The scholarship opportunity from the NCAAP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) is awarded
annually to rising law students whose commitment to social justice reveals outstanding potential for
training as civil rights and public interest attorneys. Preference is generally given to law students
entering their first year of full-time legal study at an accredited law school. Eligibility requirements are:
U.S. Citizen; college graduate or enrolled in final year of college/university; record of academic
achievement; demonstrated and an ongoing commitment to racial justice. In addition to financial
assistance, Earl Warren scholars are given two unique opportunities: (1) an LDF internship, externship,
or guided research project-competitive positions that are sought out by dozens of students every year,
and (2) an invitation to LDF’s Civil Rights Training Institute, an invitation-only annual civil rights
conference that brings together civil rights advocates, scholars, and attorneys to discuss strategies and
to network.

EB-5 Visa Awareness Scholarship
EB5Investors.com unveiled the first annual EB-5 Visa Awareness Scholarship in 2013. The scholarship
was founded to raise awareness about the EB-5 visa program among our nation’s future attorneys, while
supporting law students in their educational pursuits. Participating in the EB-5 Visa Awareness
Scholarship offers the opportunity to learn about an exciting section of immigration law, to network

Everest Nutrition awards a Krill Oil – Educate your Heart $1,000 scholarship to two students pursuing
further education beyond a high school level. Student must meet the following criteria:
1. Currently enrolled in Fall 2013 term at any college, university, trade or technical school within the
United States.
2. Must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent

Federal Circuit Bar Association
The Federal Circuit Bar Assocication awards a $10,000 scholarship in the memory of Giles S. Rich,
Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, to a law student showing financial
need and demonstrated academic promise. The Association also annually awards other scholarships
based primarily of financial need in the memory of William Bullinger, a respected practitioner. Selection
of the awards is based primarily on a written submission of no more than one page setting out the

Latham & Watkins Diversity Scholars program, is designed to increase the number of diverse attorneys

Look Twice, Save a Life Scholarship
InsuranceProviders.com offers a scholarship promoting motorcycle safety among students. The

Michael Weiner Scholarship for Labor Studies
This scholarship seeks to recognize and support the efforts of graduate and/or law students dedicated
to improving the lives of workers. It was created by Major League baseball players, through the Major
League Baseball Players Trust, honoring the life of former MLBPA Executive Director Michael Weiner.
He was passionate about protecting workers’ rights and spent nearly his entire professional career with
the MLBPA working in support of the Players. Eligible candidates must meet a combination of criteria as
follows: a strong academic record; demonstrated commitment to the labor movement; a strong
recommendation from an academic or labor/workers’ rights practitioner; strong written and oral
communication skills. Preference will be given to those who can demonstrate financial need through the
Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) scores or otherwise. Up to five winners will be selected
annually.

Miller Law Scholarship for Older Students
This scholarship from Miller Law Offices supports older students who are trying to improve their skills
and self-sufficiency by going back to school. Applicants must be over the age of 50; enrolled at an
accredited technical school, college, or university in the U.S.; maintain a cumulative Grade Point
Average (GPA) of at least 3.0. Applicants must write an essay as specified in the application
instructions. Five finalists will be chosen and their essays posted on the firm’s web site. The two
finalist’s essays with the most social support (tweets, likes, shares, +1’s) will receive the scholarship.

This scholarship is funded by a trust created by Mrs. Marion Barr Stanfield for Unitarian Universalists

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
These fellowships are awarded for up to two years of graduate study in the United States. A New
American is an individual who holds a green card or has been naturalized as a U.S. citizen or is the child
of two parents who are both naturalized citizens. To be eligible a student must not be older than 30 as
of November 1, 2005. A successful candidate will give evidence of at least two of the following three
attributes:
1) creativity, originality and initiative demonstrated in any area of his/her life;
2) a commitment to and capacity for accomplishment, demonstrated through activity that has required
drive and sustained effort; and
3) a commitment to the values expressed in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The Reeves Law Group Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to future law students in their senior undergraduate year and to students
currently enrolled in law school. Requirements include submitting a 750-1000 words essay (or
PowerPoint or Prezi presentation) on a topic as specified in the application instructions. The

Established in 2004, the Womble Carlyle Scholars Program awards scholarships to diverse rising second
year law students who present solid academic credentials, personal achievement outside the school
environment, and significant participation in community service. This program is designed to increase
the participation of underrepresented groups in the bar. The scholarship is awarded to diverse law
students at schools in most of the states in which the firm has offices.

La Raza Lawyers Association-Central Valley Chapter- Hon. Mario G. Olmos Memorial Scholarship
Since 1980 the La Raza Lawyers Association of Fresno has awarded scholarships to deserving law
students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership qualities, and involvement in the
Latino community, financial need, and ties to California’s Central Valley. Since 1991 the scholarship fund
has been dedicated to the memory of the late Superior Court Judge Mario G. Olmos, a Fresno county
jurist and respected community leader. Presently enrolled law students in their first, second, third or
fourth year of legal study are eligible to apply for this scholarship. In order to receive their awards,
recipients are expected to be present at the annual banquet to be held this year in Fresno on April 10,
2015. Each recipient will receive a complimentary entry to the banquet for themselves and one guest.

Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Educational Fund
The fund offers awards from two scholarship endowments:

JVS Scholarship Fund
The JVS Scholarship is available to Jewish students with verifiable financial need who are legal and

Every year the Essex County Bar Foundation offers a scholarship in memory of Joseph J. and Vincent P.
Biunno. The scholarships are designed to offer financial assistance to persons with disabilities who are
