Important:
Language skills are mandatory! To make sure that
you complete your apprenticeship successfully, it is
mandatory to reach the language level B1.
Our local team in Mumbai is going to support you in
receiving language lessons, completing the neces-
sary language exams at MMB and guide you through
the process.
Please note that the relevant language level B2 does
not allow you to stay in Germany or receive a perma-
nent work permit. Only the successfully completed
exam before Chamber of Commerce and Industry
would allow you to receive a permanent work permit.
Apprenticeships are possible
in different fields:
• Hotel industry
(cook, hotel professional or restaurant professional)
• Health Care
(geriatric care, nursing)
• Technical areas
(electrician, heating engineering, air-conditions
systems and technology)
2. Go Abroad – Internships in Germany
Since 2005 Der PRAKTIKANT supports students and
recent graduates in finding internship placements, in
regards to their study range, in Germany and offers
a wide range of services like applying for the ZAV
approval (students work permit), 24 h emergency call
number, arranging airport transportation, accommo-
dation search, providing advice, etc.
Regularly we accompany incentives from universities
like the Kuwait University Safat or the Green Growth
program of the Ministry of Education in South Korea.
At www.derpraktikant.eu, we have developed a
comprehensive Internet portal.
Since 2011 we are the
official partner of the
German Hotel Association
DEHOGA Bayern
Hotel and Hospitality Management: Worldwide more
than 80% of hotel directors are German. The per-
centage of German hotel managers is substantially
higher.
An internship in Germany allows students to gain
not only practical experiences, but it also opens
unexpected doors in the hotel industry.
Internship: This involves six months experience in
departments like F&B, Services, Kitchen, House-
keeping, Banquette, etc.
Internship requirements: internship takes place in
the 5th semester or higher; it is a part of your study
and curriculum.
Three years apprenticeship: This is a three years
apprenticeship to become qualified in a particular
field, for example, cooking. The apprenticeship
concludes with an examination from the German
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK).
Why apprenticeship and additional learning?
The dual education systems is well-known all over
the world. It´s a different kind of learning – focused
on practical skills and knowledge. It would open
doors into the higher management of hotels world-
wide and allows you to stay and work in Germany!
