Paddy is a very experienced Technical performance specialist with a thirst for improving the user
experience of IT applications.
Paddy has over 37 years of experience in a wide variety of roles, ranging from enterprise wide
architecture to hands on performance tuning, always with an aim to providing a business focussed
fit for purpose solution that is operationally robust while performing optimally. His experience spans
multiple platforms and environments, all over the world. Paddy is an acknowledged expert in
relational technology specialising in performance analysis and architectural solutions for large
scale system spanning multiple platforms.
Summary of Recent Achievements:
 Paddy diagnosed a set of performance issues with a multi-tiered open source application at
a Victorian government agency and ensured that the resulting recommendations did in fact,
eliminate the performance issues in scope. The entire exercise was completed in about 4
weeks.
 A very similar effort but with a much more complex environment with a Canadian Telco,
resulted in the retention of the application potentially avoiding a loss of $150 Million
 Paddy identified a few key changes that reduced the server utilisation of a major Australian
Insurance company from consistently over 90% to under 40%. This had a huge impact on
the application throughput
