The document discusses the role of the project manager in measuring carbon footprint in project management. It covers why the project manager should address sustainability, designing with BIM while considering carbon footprint, the carbon footprint of products, and monitoring the energy performance of plants. It provides examples of carbon footprint assessments of various systems like an Audi vehicle and medium voltage circuit breaker over their lifecycles. Sustainable product design is emphasized, from sustainable materials and manufacturing.

5. We work with our supply chain to increase reuse and recycling,
reduce waste to landfill, manage energy consumption and
performance, and reduce carbon emissions and water
consumption. We set ourselves challenging targets, such as
reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030.
We select materials and equipment which have minimal
environmental impact, favoring products with higher proportions
of recycled materials and those that comply with responsible,
certified sourcing schemes.
One way we act to reduce material dependency and enable reuse
is through working with supply chain partners on innovative
circular economic solutions.

certification
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
certification means healthier, more productive places, reduced
stress on the environment by encouraging energy and
resource-efficient buildings, and savings from increased
building value, higher lease rates and decreased utility costs.

8.1 Sustainability
8.1.1 Does your company have a Sustainability
strategy linked to the UN SDGs
(Sustainable Development Goals)?
8.1.3 Have you set targets as part of this
Strategy?
8.1.5 Have you set a target on achieving new
zero carbon emissions?
8.1.7 Are there timescales associated with your
targets?
8.1.9 Do you report your scope 1,2,& 3
emissions?
8.1.10 Please provide a copy of the latest Report.
8.1.12 Are you a member of the Carbon
disclosure project?
8.1.13 Are you willing to discuss your
Sustainability Strategy with BP?
8.1.14 Are there opportunities to improve the
sustainability of the Products and Services
that you provide to BP which you would
like to discuss?
8.3.3 Low Carbon Service Questions
8.3.3.1 Is there an alternative concept, method, standard, specification
and/or approach that bp should consider in order to further
reduce bp's emissions associated with this project/scope of
work (which won't compromise safety or operational risk)? If so
please explain, including at a minimum the incremental
emission reductions that would be achieved.
8.3.3.2 What changes have you made in order to reduce emissions
within your organization's supply chain that would support this
project/scope of work? Please quantify the achieved
reductions.
8.3.3.3 Are there any disruptive/innovative technologies or ways of
working within your proposal that will reduce emissions for this
project/scope of work? If so, please quantify the expected
emission reductions.
8.3.3.4 How will your solution minimize emissions over the life of the
field for this project/scope of work?
8.3.3.5 To the extent your solution results in emissions over the life of
the field for this project/scope of work, is there a continuous
improvement opportunity to further reduce (or eliminate) these
over time? If so, please describe both the amount of reduction
and anticipated timeline to achieve such reduction.
8.3.3.6 Is your company willing to enter in to a risk/reward agreement
in relation to emissions associated with the Service aspects of
this project/scope of work?
8.3.3.7 What % of the assets offered within your solution for this
project/scope of work can be re-used or recycled at the end of
the contract?
8.3.3.8 What % of the assets offered within your solution for this
project/scope of work come from a recycled source rather than
raw materials?
8.3.3.9 How does your solution reduce waste generation over time?
Please quantify your response (amount of reduction and
timescale), and for this question you may utilize a metric other
than tons of CO2 equivalent.
8.3.3.10 What KPIs, metrics and tools will be used to evaluate and
monitor the emissions performance of your proposed solution?
8.3.4 Low Carbon Product Questions
8.3.4.1 What is the estimated amount of total (daily)
emissions that will be emitted by the proposed
equipment to support this project (contract)?
8.3.4.2 What changes have you made in order to reduce
emissions within your organization's supply chain
that would support this project/scope of work?
Please quantify the achieved reductions.
8.3.4.3 To the extent your solution results in emissions
over the life of the field for this project/scope of
work, is there a continuous improvement
opportunity to further reduce (or eliminate) these
over time? If so, please describe both the
amount of reduction and anticipated timeline to
achieve such reduction.
8.3.4.4 From an emissions perspective, what is
distinctive about your offering when compared to
your competition?
8.3.4.5 Are there alternative ways to execute the scope
of work (either as a whole or individual
components) that would reduce the amount of
bp or your own emissions? If so please explain,
including at a minimum the anticipated
incremental emission reductions.
8.3.4.6 How will you minimize (reduce) the amount of
emissions in support of this project (contract)
throughout execution?
8.3.4.7 Is your company willing to enter into a
risk/reward agreement in relation to bp or your
own emissions associated with this Product
aspects relating to the project/scope of work?
8.3.4.8 What % of the equipment offered can be reused
or recycled at the end of its use on this
project/scope of work?
8.3.4.9 What % of the equipment offered will be built
from re-used or refurbished parts?
