In line with the 40th year anniversary, the Philippine Association of
Academic/Research Librarians, Inc. in cooperation with Academic Booksellers
Association of the Philippines (ABAP) will be holding a Marina G. Dayrit Lecture Series
with the topic "Treating Print in a Hybrid Library Environment: Issues, Dilemmas and
Directions" to be held at the Megamall Trade 1, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City on
9 July 2013, 1:00-5:00PM. The lecture series, named in honor of our founding
president Ms. Marina G. Dayrit, aims to provide a fertile learning environment for
new ideas and enlightened discussions among library and information professionals
in the country.
The specific objectives of this lecture series are to: (1) gain a better understand the
current trends in collection development and management of print resources; (2)
become aware of the key issues, problems, and challenges in acquiring and managing
print resources; and (3) recognize the strategies of developing hybrid library
collections.
In this regard, we would like to invite all librarians and LIS teachers and students of
Collection Development to this lecture series. There is a registration of Php300 for
members, Php350 for non-members, and Php200 for students to cover snack and
certificates. Only limited slots are available. Registration is first come, first served
basis.
We also invite you to join or renew your membership (fees: Php200, individual;
Php500, institutional). For inquiries, please contact the undersigned or any of the
Association’s officers and directors.
