Evidence-Based Practices & Nursing Introduction Normally, PICOT format is helpful in formulation of questions in an evidenced based clinical practice. PICOT generated questions generally fall under for main categories of clinical practices. These include; therapy, prevention, diagnosis, etiology as well as Prognosis. The essential elements in PICOT questions. The PICOT format is valuable in addressing research questions comprehensively. Five elements are normally addressed including; population, intervention, comparison, outcome and time as well (Riva, Malik, Burnie, Endicott, & Busse, 2012). Summary of Case Study The ever increasingly high incidence of breast cancer conditions has posed serious challenges in the nursing profession. Provision of appropriate healthcare to the cancer patients has been lacking leading to adverse effects of the proliferation of cancerous cells which further worsen the conditions of the patients. As primary care, clinicians have the responsibility to stressing providing healthcare services within healthcare facilities as well as monitoring treatment in home based facilities to help manage cancer condition. PICOT Format 1) P-Population: Patients aged 18-60 years-old, breast cancer who have not received chemotherapy in the past six months are subjected to the treatment. Patients with other serious health conditions such as heart diseases were excluded in the study. 30 patients, with 15patients stationed at the healthcare facility while the other 15 patients receiving home-based care, are expected to take part in the study. 2) I -Intervention: The patients will receive dosage based on the age, sex and health general body health as well as the stage of cancer cells proliferation in the body. The patients are required take the prescribed drugs at regular intervals. The subjects will be subjected to treatment under the same during the research study. 3) C-Comparison: All the subject regardless of variations in their level of dose requirement will be subjected to the same treatment for the same duration, 3months. Standardized treatment will be given to subjects with no extreme variations in their level of dose requirement and would be used as an active control group. Using this strategy, it will be possible to minimize the non-specific effects due to a group of the patient receiving treatment within the healthcare. 4) O-Outcome: The response in chemotherapy treatments will be check by examining the numbers of defective cancerous cells in the body tissues. Generalist Practice: A Presentation on Steps of The Problem-Solving Process Name: Date: May 5th, 2021 Pamela Easter !!! 1 Problem Identification or Engagement Identify the type of problem – drug addiction and its effects on Family members.(Janice Walker is at the center of problem) Identify how the problem has affected the rest of the community- substance abuse effects cost in the community in measurable ways including loss of productivity and unemployability; impairment in physical and mental health; reduced quality of life; increase violence; and Crime; abuse and neglect of children. The community's general perception of the problem- the economic consequences of drug abuse severely burden federal , State, and local government resources, and the taxpayer. The root cause of the problem- most often the cause of addiction is chronic stress, a history of trauma (PTSD), mental illness, lastly family history with addiction Problem Identification/Engagement. The first step is to identify the type of problem the researcher is dealing with. Identify how the problem has affected the rest of the community and the community's general perception of the problem. The next step is to evaluate how the problem has affected the community or a client. Lastly, identify the root cause of the problem; where did the problem come from, or how did the victim get the problem they are facing. 2 Data Collection Three major ways of collecting data from Clients are Interviews, Observation, and surveys Interviews: Engaging with the client one-on-one. Listening to client’s perspective of the problem This method has ability to untangle the individual's problem, emotions, background, and the general social context, The Advocate can get the client's perception of the treatment Observation: It obtains data from clients by assessing the reaction to their respective environments The researcher can identify factors contributing to the Client's condition Data collection. There are many ways to collect data from a client. Three major ways of collecting data from a client are Interviews, Observation, and First Extraction. Interviews: The researcher can speak with the patient on a one-on-one basis. A researcher or a nurse can use this method because of its ability to untangle the individual's problem, emotions, background, and the general social context, which in this paper largely revolves around the family relationship (Cohen et al., 2017). This data collection method paves the way for a nurse to get the patient's perception of the treatment and some of the elements that motivated them to embrace treatment. Observation: it is used to obtain data from clients by assessing the reaction to their respective environments. Observation methods allow the researcher to identify social dimensions and family background factors contributing to the patient's condition. 3 Data Collection cont’d Surveys : Can discover the problem Clients Family History background details o ...

Jennifer L. Naegele Dr. Daniel West HAD - 517 June 6, 2020 Week 6 Reflection “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.” - Unknown Introduction The essence of learning a course in schools is to apply the skills, knowledge, and theories in the day to day operations at home, in the workplace, and in other positions in life. the skills and knowledge acquired during learning are determined by reflecting the concept learned and figuring out how these concepts can be applied in future life. According to Socrates, “the unexamined life is not worth living.” The quote encourages individuals to reflect on the issue that one has passed and projects on how the future might look. In doing so, one is required to remain focus and avoid destructive issues such as fear. In life, to achieve success one should learn from the mistakes and live beyond the frustrations that come from these failures. What I Learned This Week This week's reading discusses the need for self-determination in life to achieve goals in life. Life is full of challenges and thus it's essential to remain dedicated and optimistic; being positive in life helps make one overcome the challenges of life. In life, without dedication and hope, individuals' potential starts declining, and this the beginning of failure. Life is characterized by two events – the ups and downs. In the time of down one should remain focused, positive, and determined; during the ups, one should be humble and careful to protect the good thing. Amending My Behaviors This week’s reading will play a significant role in amending my behavior; the learning will empower my sense of life and contribute positivity. The readings have helped me to restructure my mind to remain hopeful and continue anticipating the future. Hope plays a substantial role in making keep moving and this betters over livers as we keep pursuing the best (Ross, 2017). By remaining positive even when one is down, make one keep trying, and hence at the end of the day success is achieved. Thus, I will learn to create a positive mood, and this will equip me with the capacity to remain determined even when this is not getting in the right path. Ideas I can Use at Work and In Relationships Positive minds, attitudes, and emotions are essential even in the workplace. In the workplace, being positive will help me to influence my colleagues to work hard toward the organization's objectives (Ashkanasy, 2016). A positive person can work under various conditions even though they seem to be challenging. Working in all conditions helps one to earn recognition from their organization and management. As a result, when a promotion comes, I am more like to be considered based on these observations. Positivity helps to create exemplary working conditions that will be emulated by others for the good of the company. How I will Advance Globalization and Promote Social Justice The skills l.

Case # 2. “55-year-old Asian female living in a high-density poverty housing complex. Pre-school-aged white female living in a rural community” Interpersonal Communication Barriers. Communicational flow and the capability of establishing interpersonal links in any interview gets influenced by numerous factors, such as the medical client's age, norms, family status, social status, or cultural beliefs. In the selected case of patient scenarios, a critical barrier to effective interpersonal communication may be a lack of transparency and trust problems. Communication becomes problematic when the medical practitioner and their client endure trust problems. This challenge may lead the patient in the selected case to fail to open up to share the required details pertinent to their clinical care, which is also needed to properly comprehend the patient's scenario and plan for their intervention. To a few, trust and transparency issues can make patients anxious and fail to provide the needed vital information for their treatment, goal setting, and care plan (Alshammari et al., 2019). The next barricade towards effective interpersonal communication is the lack of emotional safety and security, particularly on the patient's side. This problem makes the medical client feel discomfort, particularly when sharing their ideas and feeling, expressing their health problem, and becoming authentic owing to their fear of facing criticism, ridicule, or being turned off. Being insecure emotionally triggers immense fear in the client, obstructing them from effective interpersonal communication and creating effective interpersonal linkage (Blair & Smith, 2012). The communication style during the clinical interview phase can be a vital barrier to establishing effective interpersonal communication. At times, the client and the clinical profession can have diverse communication approaches (Alshammari et al., 2019). For example, when either the patient or the clinician prefers to pursue indirect communication while the other part opts for direct communication. Also, some medical clients might opt for details info which can create a barrier to interpersonal communication whenever the clinician is not in a position to offer them. Hence, medical professionals might fail to understand their patients due to the communication approach. Lastly, the poor clinical setting for the assessment and noise the maybe another barrier affecting interpersonal communication. Any clinical assessment selects a substantial place and works toward techniques and mechanisms for practical and effective communication approaches (Kim & white, 2018). Declined management techniques and ignorance of the imminent issues or problems may diminish the confidence levels of the selected patient's scenarios and the expected effectiveness in their communication (Blair & Smith, 2012). For instance, the high-densely poverty housing complex for the elderly patient is full of distractio.

Non-verbal communication can be a supplemental for verbal communication and can reinforce or substitute a spoken message. The non-verbal communication can be different in each situation and each encounter. It is affected by the patient’s sensitivities, how one is regarded and the situation itself. it is very important to facilitate the positive non-verbal interactions in the health care settings. Body language can be crucial as it aids in communication and also helps to decode and react appropriately to other people’s visual and cues. Also, the cultural differences can affect the non-verbal communication as some non-verbal communication can be considered appropriate in some cultures. Thus, it is required to have some knowledge regarding cultural differences and cultural competence. Liu, Calvo, A., R., Lim, & Renee. (2016, June 7). Improving Medical Students' Awareness of Their Non-Verbal Communication through Automated Non-Verbal Behavior Feedback. Retrieved from https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fict.2016.00011/full The non-verbal communication of clinicians has an impact on patients’ satisfaction and health outcomes. Yet medical students are not receiving enough training on the appropriate non-verbal behaviors in clinical consultations. Computer vision techniques have been used for detecting different kinds of non-verbal behaviors, and they can be incorporated in educational systems that help medical students to develop communication skills. We describe EQClinic, a system that combines a tele-health platform with automated non-verbal behavior recognition. The system aims to help medical students improve their communication skills through a combination of human and automatically generated feedback. EQClinic provides fully automated calendaring and video conferencing features for doctors or medical students to interview patients. We describe a pilot (18 dyadic interactions) in which standardized patients (SPs) (i.e., someone acting as a real patient) were interviewed by medical students and provided assessments and comments about their performance. After the interview, computer vision and audio processing algorithms were used to recognize students’ non-verbal behaviors known to influence the quality of a medical consultation: including turn taking, speaking ratio, sound volume, sound pitch, smiling, frowning, head leaning, head tilting, nodding, shaking, face-touch gestures and overall body movements. The results showed that students’ awareness.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
