Oscar Miguel Rivera-Borroto received the BS degree in chemistry (summa cum laude) from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV), Santa Clara, Cuba in 2003, and the MS in applied mathematics from UCLV in 2008. Due to his contributions in the fields of reliability of measurements and similarity-based virtual screening techniques, he was granted a PhD degree in mathematics (probability theory and mathematical statistics) from the UCLV in 2013, and a PhD degree in chemistry (simulation of molecular processes) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain also in 2013.
