3. Narrative Structure
Drama and excitement on Brit Awads
(set scene) then scene about him
Contrasting Meatloaf with YMCA near
end of programme
Goes back to Brit Awards at the end
End of documentary is the end of the
song
4. Camerawork
The opening scene is the Brit Awards which makes
you feel like you’re there as it is handheld, not
carefully done
Also they were filming someone else who was
filming which is less formal than a proper interview
Long cut away of the album cover this makes the
audience focus on the voiceover
The documentary uses a lot of cutaways
There is a mixture of moving and still shots
throughout the documentary
They interviewed 2 people but with a variety of
different angles
7. Editing
Montages of people talking in the
magazine were used
The documentary used montages of
musicians at the music awards
They also used a montage of making the
music video
Also there were montages of posters of
Meatloaf
The interview was edited into a voiceover
so it was more like a conversation
8. Archive Material
The documentary has used
photos, news and footage of videos
The documentary used footage of the
Brit Awards in 1994
They got footage of Meatloaf in
concert and some of his music videos
