2. Magazine Interview.
This is a cosmopolitan cover girl interview. The cover
girl of the magazine always will have a big interview
full of special features in the middle of the magazine.
At the end of the interview Cosmo do a ‘the Cosmo
quiz’ where the celebrity answers there questions
themselves in their own handwriting. I think this a
great feature as it’s so raw it’s giving you a personal
connection to the celebrity through the magazine.
The interview is very fun looking and it uses bright
images which have been taken in a photo shoot. But
then it uses images from events to show their life.
Here it shows a red carpet image. The writing is very
feminine. Using a swirly curled font. Light colours are
used like there is a lot of white. This makes it feminine
so we know this is a interview with the target audience
aimed at young girls.
I love how the have give the effect the quiz is attached
to the magazine by a paperclip. This is really effect as
it makes the quiz fun to read and as I am appealed by
this it is appealing young girls which its purpose is.
3. This again follows the fun like interview style of
another cosmopolitan magazine interview. This
interview however does not hold a quiz as big as
the last interview and has another section of
confessions. This is almost gossip like which relates
to young girls. It uses feminine fonts and colours
such a the Arial type font in a light pink for the
headlines of the confessions section.
Again this is very fun looking with graphics such as
the Cosmo quiz circle. Its like a flower almost. They
use photoshop images which shoes the celebrity
looking stunning. They have bright lighting and use
props to give it more detail.
It advertises her new clothing range, small at the
bottom of the page. As the target audience of this
magazine would be interested in her new range.
I really love this fun but sophisticated look about this
interview. It doesn’t look fun that it looks to childish
and little girlish. It looks really sophisticated and it
makes you want to read it.
4. This is the start of the interview on the first page of the four page spread. It has a large image of the celebrity
that looks like it is coming out of the page. I have found that these include mostly close ups.
The writing is big and bold and is a mixture of different fonts. The name of the celebrity is in an really girly
and italic font. Then it changes into a comic sans font which is really bold and is in block letters. This
suggests the seconded part of the title is more important and is there to be seen. It makes the interview
looking more fun and interesting. These types of cosmopolitan interviews contain a colour difference between
the questions being asked and the celebrities answer. As in this interview they have orange and black. I love
that they use very light and bright colours such as a peachy orange. This creates a girly and sophisticated
feel to the interview. There is a headline then a sub heading which you normally find and his sums up what
the interview is about. Again an image is used in her daily life and here she is at the brit awards. This has all
the conventions of a interview in a young girls magazine.
6. Arial- Queen B
Arial Black- Queen B
American Typewriter- Queen B
Century Gothic- Queen B
Brush Script- Queen B
Comic Sans MS- Queen B
Lucida Calligraphy- Queen B
The two highlighted fonts are the fonts that I am keen to use. Which are BASIC
& American Typewriter. I think BASIC is perfect for a Beyoncé font because it is
very much like Beyoncé Halo Single cover. I like American typewriter because
it is smile and readable but also has a feminine feel about it because it has little
flicks. I am going to use two fonts in my interview. The headline and then the
main body of the text.
