2. REFLECTION
• What are you going to make? I am creating an animation which is inspired by the streetwear
community in York. It will also be a subtle advertisement for some of the shops in York which sell this
type of clothing and artwork. The animation will be more focused on the work f the popular artists in
the streetwear community rather than the actual clothing, as I think this would be harder to portray
an animation.
• Why? The reason I am making this is because I am trying to get people to visit York. I am trying to
let people who are interested in the streetwear and fashion community to come to York instead of
some or the surrounding city's such as Leeds and Sheffield which also have a rather good streetwear
scene going on. I have decided to do an animation because this is what I want to peruse at
and as a career path. This will allow me to gain more experience in this field.
• Who is it for? My animation is for people of any gender who are between the ages of 16-23. I will be
aiming for people who live around the local area and also in York itself because I want it to be easy
people to get to, this means it would make more sense for me to advertise more to local people. I
be aiming this product towards people with a steady income as they will need some money to spare
they want to purchase some of the clothes in the streetwear community.
• Where will it appear/ on what? My advertisement will appear on places such as Instagram and
Snapchat. The reason I am picking these places is because its where most people in my age range
spend there time online and it’s a part of everyday use for most people ages 16-23. It also can be
in target advertising as what people search for online has been proven to influence the
you get on places such as Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. Another way of advertisement is using
YouTube system where if an advertisement is related to a video they will put it on that video. For
example if someone were to watch a video on streetwear then my advertisement may play before
video.

5. STORYBOARD ANALYSISBox 1) Blank white screen. A petal pops up in the middle and floats down. The whole flower then bursts into existence.
Box 2) The flower starts growing larger and its revealed that it has a black and white swirling pattern inside the mouth.
Box 3) The screen is a black and white swirl which represents the classic hypnotism screen. A Steve Harrington tree then starts to slide into the center of the
screen.
Box 4) The tree continues to slide into the screen.
Box 5) The background slowly zooms in and the tree starts to morph into a human.
Box 6) The tree is almost full a human and the background is half black and half white.
Box 7) The background is fully white and the human starts to walk on the spot.
Box 8) The human falls into a hole.
Box 9) They fall into a real photograph of York river but with animated splash effects. The transition will be a wipe from bottom to top.
Box 10) A Kaws head floats to the top of the water.
Box 11) The screen starts to zoom in on the head.
Box 12) Continues to zoom.
Box 13) The screen rotates and it does a match cut into a gravestone.
Box 14) Cuts to black.
Box 15) Flowers start to appear until the whole background is full of flowers which change colors.
Box 16) A bear brick head zooms into the foreground. The head begins to rotate.
Box 17) Head sticks its tongue out and stretches to grab the screen and pulls the screen into its mouth.
Box 18) The screen is outside of the York minster and the doors open as the screen zooms inside of them.
Box 19) The camera slowly zooms through the middle of the church with the artists characters sat at the pews turning around as the camera progresses forward.
Box 20) Zooms into the back of the minster where there is a stained glass window with the names of some shops in York etc.
Box 21) The screen turns upward and clouds in the shape of some of the artists work are in the sky and slide to the sides to reveal space.
Box 22) Moon is on the right of the screen as many swirls and strange patterns fill up the rest of the space.
Box 23) The moon morphs into a face and says “Visit York, Streetwear City”.
6. MUSIC
• First half: Wolves-Kanye West
• The reason I have chosen to pick this song is because Kanye West is a very popular
singer in the streetwear community. I also think that the song even though it is till hip-
hop it is a lot more relaxed and fits the mood and visuals to the first section a lot more
than a more stereotypical hip-hop song. The song is a lot more slow and suits the tone
of the start of the video as it is quite slow and has a more dark tone than the second
half.
• Second half: Rave In The Cave VS Fiya-Jacob B X Sly One
• The reason I have chosen this song is because it has 3 separate parts which I can use to
change the flow depending on how fast or slow I want some of the features in the
second half to go. I think it fits perfectly with the style of animation and visuals
because its quite weird and seems a little unpredictable after the hip-hop song that
plays before. I think that the trippy visuals need to be reflected by a song of this sort
because it leaves the viewers disorientated and shocked with what there seeing.
7. FONTS Custom 1: I think the first font can be used for parts of
text which are supposed to be out of nowhere and quite
snappy. This can be visualized in this font because of the
somewhat sharper edges and its simplicity. I also think
that if I were to animate this text I could create each
frame adding another line of the lettering.
Custom 2: I think this font would be used for parts of
the animation where the mood is to be more fun and
calm. It also visually reflects the font used by the artist
Steve Harrington who plays a big roll in the influence of
my animation. I think if I were to animate this text I
could add a simple bounce or a glossy shine if I wanted
to give it a little more movement and life.
Custom 3: I think that this text will be used near the end of the animation when the video starts to
get more strange. This font will be a good one once it is animated as it will start as a simple block
black font and then will slowly start to melt as it makes the mind of the viewers work more and
more. I think this really suits the overall aesthetic of my animation.
8. COLOR SCHEME
The reason I have chosen a color
scheme like this is because most of the
work of the artists is of tones such as
these. In some places the artists use
more saturated and bold colors which I
will most likely use at points although
these are the colors that most of my art
will be done in. These colors are easy on
he viewers eye but are also quite
grabbing as the colors are more pale
and muted than most but still have a
vibrant feel to them. The reason I have
chosen opposing colors instead of
colors that harmonize is because I will
need to be using almost all of the colors
to create certain illusions and scenes.
9. CONTINGENCY PLANNING
Potential Issue Solution
Work being lost if the computer corrupts or
breaks in any way.
Saving work onto a memory stick or making
multiple copies.
Work being lost if the computer shuts itself
down.
Saving work regularly or after any major
changes.
Work being lost if I lose its whereabouts on
computer.
Keep my files organized and named, making
them easy to find.
HEALTH AND SAFETYThere will be no health and safety issues because the room is already risk accesses as somebody
checks it every morning.
