2. HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA
PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR
SOCIAL GROUPS?
Social groups
Technical middle class - a small, distinctive
new class group which is prosperous but
scores low for social and cultural capital.
Distinguished by its social isolation and
cultural apathy. My product represents this
social group because my magazine is an
affordable magazine and the picture shows
that he is serious and staring at the reader.
And also the picture can to relate to there class
as ‘JAY-J’ came from this class.
FRONT COVER
‘JAY-J’ is 18 and
he represents
the technical
middle class
because he
started as an
artists in the
middle class so
he shares common
ground. His
music also
relates to the
social middle
class.
He also
represents this
class because he
doesn’t follow
other artists he
made him self
and he enjoys
his music he
makes and no one
else's, the
black and white
has a sheeknes
to it so that it
appeals the
social middle
class and his
facial
expression shows
that he is a
regular guy and
shows meaning
The text used in
my magazine is
informal so it
goes with the
middle class and
is a chatty
magazine
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
The expression
or pose on ‘JAY-
J’s face shows
that he is just
your average
middle class
Pearson. Even
though he has
the money and
fame he doesn’t
boast or show it
he is down to
earth.
His clothing shows it is very casual and has the
dress cense of an average middle class person, so
this all relates to a social middle class and makes
the reader comfortable.
The text written is
very chatty and
informal which will
also make the
reader comfortable
and relate them
selves to JAY-J
