Fund-of-Funds
UVCA consistently promotes the Fund-of-Funds (FoF) project, that will invest in existing
and new venture funds in Ukraine on a competitive basis, which could finally invest in
more than 3000 already existing Ukrainian startups.
Implementation of this project will become a catalyst for Ukrainian innovation industry,
and increase capital inflows of investments into the country.
The Prime Minister supported our proposal to create the Fund-of-Funds. The Head of
Government offered to draft a concept of the FoF and combine its activity with the
Council of Innovations. Volodymyr Groysman has added that following the discussion
and approval of such a concept, the Government will have a chance to take part in the
formation of the Fund’s budget.
Next steps:
- organizing a delegation from European Investment Fund to Ukraine to hold meetings
and a workshop for officials, local investors on fundraising and FoF establishment;
- signing a letter of intent by Ukrainian government regarding FoF creation.
12. Corporate Governance in LLC
Ukrainian Parliament passed the law on
LLC’s Corporate Governance in February
2018.
The Law implements international
practices in corporate regulation of
private companies, sets rules for a pledge
for corporation rights, introduces
shareholders agreements, protects
minority shareholders’ rights as well as
allows flexibility of regulation for private
company shareholders.
The Law will also increase Ukraine’s
Doing Business ranking.
State investment projects financing
The Law simplifies the procedure of
obtaining state support for investment
projects by changing the role of the State
Register of Investment Projects from
permissive to informative. It allows
projects that have been granted state
support, as well as state investment
projects, to be put in the State Register of
Investment Projects in order to monitor
their implementation.
Simplification of employment of high
quality foreign specialists
The Law allows highly skilled foreigners,
