If you own a beauty salon, you definitely want your clients
to keep coming. You have done everything you can
possibly do, yet you don’t get hair clients as fast as you
would like. When you sue social media channels, you do
not cross your hands expecting the clients to
automatically start patronizing your beauty salon.
1. Owning a YouTube channel
YouTube is a goldmine!
It is a very effective way to get loyal customers who feel like they know you
and your business inside out.
People shy away from YouTube because they think the process and views
are complicated, but it helps you without much input from you.
Video Ideas:
• Hair making the process
• before- and after- in still shoots.
• experiment with popular trends
• Remember: Keep it simple
2.Build Partnerships
Start with businesses with the same ideal client persona as yours –
boutiques and fashion retailers, jewelers, spas, perfumeries, fitness clubs.
You could either partner with some of these businesses or do a sort of joint
marketing.
However, bear it in mind that such business partnerships do not always give
immediate results. It has to be for the long-haul and it requires trust and
strong relationships.
The partnership must be symbiotic. . Your offer doesn’t have to be a
freebie, just make it persuasive enough to attract new customers. Be
clear on how both businesses stand to gain new clients.
3. Make your existing clients trust you
• A recent client survey done at different hairdressing salons revealed 74%
of clients felt recommendation was the most important factor when
choosing a hair salon.
• Your clients will be more willing to stick their necks out when vouching for
your beauty salon and expertise if you inspire a sense of trust in them.
• Chat with them during the process and listen to their preferences.
• Ask for feedback often too.
Make your clients feel good if you want them to introduce their friends. As
Maya Angelou famously said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you
said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you
made them feel.”
4.Exhibitions
There are often hair events, either sponsored by hair care brands or by
a group of hairdressers.
At such exhibitions, you can easily demonstrate your skills in a space
where the attendees are very interested in your profession.
You definitely have tons of clients in the crowd, so don’t pass up the
opportunity. Stay prepared by going with your business cards or
leaflets with all the channels to follow your beauty salon online.
The pictures and videos from your exhibits are great content to be
uploaded on social media.
5. Be part of a charity event
Look at this as your own little way of giving back to the community – you
help those in need and make your salon stand out to new clients.
When clients know that you have free hair sessions for the vulnerable,
they have a soft spot for your salon and tell more people about you.
Example: Give haircuts to an old people’s home for free. The first
impression is the key to attracting new clients.
The old lady would tell her daughter about the salon that comes around to
give free haircuts. The daughter is more likely to check you out. Be sure to
keep your contact info with whoever is in charge of where you decide to
have your charity program.
6. Your salon website
You can have the best beauty salon in the world, but it will make no
difference if no one knows about you.
Having something personal which you can tweak however you like without
worrying about social media algorithm is essential; this is the main function
of your website.
All the online marketing strategies should direct traffic to your website where
you can showcase your skills.
With the right SEO, your beauty salon should pop up in Google search
engines.
7. Advertise on the radio
Contrary to popular belief, people still listen to their radios.
An active audience paying plenty of attention to their radios will help you get
more clients.
Get a 30-second catchy jingle advertising your beauty salon and put on your
local radio stations.
You might have noticed that these are not regular ways to get clients fast. To
get different (and better results), you have to be bold enough to try out new
stuff.
